can you lot stop having a crack at the kerry folks..my mother is from listowel in kerry and there were no white wellys in her wedding photos... she married a clare man so add me to your list brixton
Kiwi: Your pukka roots are noted and rights to defend Kerry against its detractors, upheld! However, if we were listing Irish descent, we'd be roll calling all week! I think this is about home-based people for future meet-up purposes. (Love the idea of that central pub full of hoops on the occasional match day... no doubt all piling on top of Swords for his latest bit of controversy!) Updated roll call: Ciarrai, Twins, Swords, Dens, Turbo, Corrib, Inkedupp, Belfast, Kingdom, MOS, Dublin, NUTS... come on lads, who else?
Well guys, sorry i missed all the CRAIC but i have been travelling Jordan and Israel for the last few days. Born and rared in Kilkenny but married and living in Monaghan for the last 15 years. I have a great solution to a neutral location for a meet up. Why not come to my gaff in Lebanon and we can all watch the match together. For anybody who travells the almaza is on me.
the leb?? bloody hell! still be safer than the park inn on a sat night! didn't expect to get so many responses looks like the Irish chapter is alive and well! hopefully we can set up a meet ill travel if anyone needs a lift to wherever we decide! Irish R's on the road!!!
Mrs Tooting is from Cork City but I haven't met any Rs over there yet. Although I walked into a bar once and got excited when saw a few blue and white hooped shirts, but then realised they were for a GAA club - not sure if it was a county or local club though? On the old site there was a CorkRanger too - but don't think he's made the journey over yet.
tooting, that shirt you saw is the Waterford county team, it's a bloody liberty they copied us!! I'm forever walking around checking if it's ours or theirs.
Hello all, been following qpr since 1975 try and get over 2/3 times a year, lived in Cork Dublin and now Cavan. Allways enjoy going over on cheap Ryanair flights and meeting the regulars on the flight...plenty of Irish Rangers here
Northolt: Looking good (see twins, what were we saying about the Rs' tricolour... !). It'd be great if all the I's on here were using the avatar. Swords: I'm drafting a letter to the club that Roller can use as the header for a petition on here. Then we can look for an iQPR boff who can transfer the petition on to that website. NUTS: User name says it all after hearing where you are! Ciarrai: First round on Swords? Poor boy... or he would be after that! Updated roll call: Ciarrai, Twins, Swords, Dens, Turbo, Corrib, Inkedupp, Belfast, Kingdom, MOS, Dublin, NUTS, Rebel... come on lads, we've already got enough of you to make up a team with two subs! Who else?
I think I might start a new thread asking if there are any other English QPR supporters on this forum! Seriously I had no idea that there were so many QPR supporters in Ireland. The efforts you guys go through to get to the occasional match make my efforts from Surrey look quite pathetic. Go on you all.
We've found 13 I's so far - without trying... and that's just on here. Must be loads more. Reckon we could fill a boozer at least. 'When Irish Rs are smiling...'! (Let's hope so after tomorrow anyways... ) As for English Rs... must be loads BUT it would be really interesting to find any that had English parents and grandparents on both sides (i.e. through and through heritage).
