    A shout out to some of the good women from Hull: Wonderful Amy of course, Lil Bilocca, Maureen Lipman, Cosey Fanni Tutti, Stevie Smith, Lene Lovich (born USA, but went to Greatfield high so co-opted), Dorothy Mackall (movie actress), Katie O'Brien (tennis) and in the news this week for being back in Hull - Barbara Buttrick boxer from the 1950s known as the 'Mighty Atom'.

    No, no, no. Reckon you can't do it, let the wife tell you you are useless as any fool can do it, snatch the pile of clothes off you and proceed to demonstrate how it is done. Job's a good un. Works for lots of other things as well and gives you time to get on with more important things like having a beer.

    My missus hired a cleaning lady not long after we married. All said cleaning lady did was the ironing whilst watching the soaps on telly. I sacked the cleaning lady 15 years later in frustration.
    I now have an ex-cleaning lady and an ex-missus. Never ever had a clean house.
