well... no charges and not at fualt doesn't mean the perons she love tapped isn't claiming harm.

No winners in this but the bonnet hopper.

Didn't she have no claims protection?

I pay upfront in case but to half way though up the amount as no claims removed SEEMS unfair and illegal to me. no claims should no next renewal at worst

Yeh, these scammers are out there. There's the one where they get in front of you in their car and stop suddenly then say you ran into them through not paying attention to the police and fake whiplash etc

    yup.

Serious scammers. The friend was supposed to be there as witness, try get you to not call cops and if you did to just diffuse. They don't care and insurance industry sadly prob have 20 claims for these people on book and STILL pay out.

Not sure I get what's going on with the no claims thing? Regardless of fault, you end up losing no claims anyway. What does no claims protection actually do? I don't know how it works on the current policy, but will definitely go through the next one if this counts as being logged as a claim.

The insurance industry are well aware of the scammers and are working with the authorities to get them off the streets.

However the scammer gangs aren't the reason for insurance hikes and issues like the one RHC has got with his daughter. It's the blame and claim culture that has snided its way into our society from across the pond.

Had an accident? Well if someone has snotted you at 5 mph there's a whiplash payout just waiting. We've got the bent briefs and even dodgier medical professionals on the payroll, sign here and we'll get you a cheque. That's the reason for all this bollocks, people's greed and lack of moral fibre

How did it get settled? Did she have a license? Was it her vehicle and she forgot to renew? I imagine it happens a lot unintentionally, driving without MOT is common too without people being aware that they're doing it. Negligence.

I was hit by an BWN X6, he didn't stop and give way to me on a roundabout even though I was lit up like a Christmas tree. He was some CEO of a chemical company, gave me his details straight away and said he'd cover everything. Ended up with a bike worth £700 more than the one I was riding through his insurance company. I had a limp for a couple of weeks but I never had the intention of an extra pay day though it. I'd like to think that I'm better than that.

Just to add to that, a council also has a claim in against her. She had a blow out on the M62 on her way to Merchant Taylors' about 5 months ago and hit (not hard) the barrier in the central reservation. The council are clai ming for damage to the barrier <grr>

Who can believe that operation on my leg is taking place less than two weeks after I saw the ****ing consultant? <yikes>

well i claimed couple of months ago for an incident which wasn't my fault and when i notified the insurance company (Direct Line) they said if what i told them was correct it wouldn't effect my no claims bonus - i don't protect my NCB.

On the claims culture i had a series of calls from claims management companies after logging my claim to which i used my standard response of
"**** of you pathetic vulture" before putting the phone down. I had suffered no injury at all but even Direct Line reminded me at least twice they would supply me with a solicitor to make a claim despite me sying in no uncertin terms that no-one was hurt in the slightest just my car

there are 3 possible reasons i can think of

    1. The Consultant has a surprisingly empty case list - though if a specialist they sometimes have less than you might imagine

    2. Your case is interesting to him i.e. he has never done the proposed operation before and is keen to give it a go.

    3. You are high priority because of the damage being caused will grow until fixed.

    1. Possibly (though he did say I wouldn't be waiting long).

    2. He sees only one or possibly 2 similar cases every year. The removed tissue will be sent away for research as no one knows what causes it yet. He knew what he was going to do as soon as he'd checked the strength of the pulse in my foot to ensure it wasn't a circulatory issue.

    3. It's not got any worse - probably a little better, if anything.

    No idea.
Someone important enough to jump the queue?

Seriously, I don't know. Ring the consultant's office and ask them if it bothers you. Otherwise, just be happy you'll get it sorted early.
Good luck with it, anyway. <ok>
