Ozil has a loser mentality unfortunately, it has cost us in many important games this season. Sanchez has shown interest but he has no support. Arsenal are wildly inconsistent, tactically naiive, defensively fragile and mentally weak.
I remember Gerrard wanted to leave Liverpool and join Chelsea back in 2004 when pool sacked Houlier. Then Rafa convinced him to stay. Hopefully any new manager we get can do the same to Ozil and Sanchez. ...that, along with getting rid of the many, many players that should not be at this club because they aren't good enough.
Totally agree, Ozil is part of the problem. This will probably convince Sanchez to leave. Half the team are just not good enough, the wrong players keep getting picked. Wenger is surely finished at this club.
I think the saddest thing about all this is that none of us can say it was a 'shock' result. These results have been so common over the years that there is no genuine surprise if we do get thrashed. Because it happens so regularly. We've been embarrassingly bad in the big games to the point where every single person in their heart of hearts expects us to lose. It's one thing you can almost be certain of. We were never going to go through anyway, but to get dicked like that home and away is just humiliation of the highest order. At least have some professional pride for God's sake. How many more records is Wenger going to break I wonder...
Another capitulation and even worse as it was at home and anot important game for the players to gain some pride in. Do these players know what that is? But this situation is so frustrating. This was inevitable with Wenger in charge and some of us have warned that he should have retired a while ago. Only saving grace is a top 4 finish so the new manager gets CL. It will be fuking annoying if the only time Wenger drops out of the top 4 hemail follows it up with retirement. That would be the ****test thing he could do.
Being in the CL or not means little. Leicester and Chelsea won the league while not being in the CL. Chelsea didn't have an exodus of players when they didn't make it. Indeed they convinced Kante to go them over us and he's 10x the player that Xhaka currently is. United didn't have an exodus when they weren't in the CL. Liverpool have attracted Mane, Coutinho and Firmino with no CL. Spurs have got better players than us in several positions without CL footy to attract them. Playing in the CL is not only not an achievement, it is also not pivotal to have every single year. The big issue is selling yourself as being a worthwhile club to play for. Wenger has made us a worthless club with no ambition. Why would Sanchez and Ozil stay? Crayz if they do, and if anything would suggest a complete lack of motivation on their part. If Wenger stays and they still stay then there's something wrong with them. Though Ozil is easily replaceable anyway so that would be no great loss.
Exactly. Clubs want to join teams in the Champions League because they have a chance of winning a better trophy! Not because its prestigious competition to play in in name only. We are not even worth being in the CL as we never win the thing and always crash out at the first tough side we play against. Why would any self respecting player want that? The key word here is AMBITION. Do we have any? Not yet.
I was at the game and i must say for 45 mins we were top class. Should have been 2-0 up at half time even with a referee who was giving us absolutely nothing. That's the crazy thing about this side - the ability is there, the problems are leadership, tactics and concentration. When Koscielny got sent off you could just see the energy drain away from the players. Once we were 2-1 down the stadium started to empty - the fans have also given up. The board need to do something. It really worries me that its all 'up to Wenger' at this point as this just goes to show there is no plan in place.
It's hard to have sympathy for Wenger when he only blames the ref for another shocking defeat. How abouts blaming yourself and the players? There is no excuse to fall apart when Kos goes off. That shows a distinct lack of character and heart. But what do you expect from his players when none of them are accountable, including the manager, for their dismall performances? It shows a lack of respect for the fans too. Amazing how he sees everything when it suits him. It really p1sses me off.
