That I did - just like the old Hiag

I prefer the new Hiag, who can post about football, exchange banter, and still has a sense of humour.

If we lose by less than 3 goals tonight do you consider that a moral victory

  2. It doesn't seem that HIAG was something of a wum trend-setter.

He has to be admired for that, I suppose.

    Agreed.

I like it that I can be dull at the drop of a hat.

"Slow to wum, quick to bore" - that's the new HIAG's motto.

    Yes.

Arsenal have their own sicknote in Welbeck. Can't even get through a warm up now.

Just had a crafty tenner on Danny Welbeck being the best Arsenal player over 90 minutes... :)

They rush injured players back, then overuse them.

Good goal. It's the hope that kills.

1-0 to the Goons. Neuer does a Bravo. Should stop that.
Could get interesting now, if they can maintain the tempo.

Bayern are playing to about the same level as that away kit.

  10. Bayern still have 60% of the possession, and Arsenal are not going to score the necessary goals if that continues.

Bayern know exactly what they are doing and how to get the job done, without expending too much energy.

I don't actually think that helps Bayern, defensively speaking.
They're pushing up and it gives Arsenal chances on the break.
If the Germans score though, then it becomes a very big ask.

  12. "...Arsenal survive..."
(snippet taken from commentary on BBC Football Live)

This is going to become Arsenal's new motto, in the years post-Wenger.

  13. "Arsenal still posing most of the danger but this has all the makings of the old, old Champions League story for the Gunners. Leave themselves far too much to do before making a plucky exit. Tough to tell a hard luck story seven seasons in succession."
(Phil McNulty, BBC Football Live commentary)

    I don't think that's a red card. Double jeopardy?

I think the penalty virtually killed it and that was right, but I don't see that as a red.
I thought the rule was supposed to deal with blatant attempts to take people out and that's not one, for me.
It's a foul, but he's trying to muscle him off the ball and get to it, not just scythe him down.

Arsenal need about a million goals now with ten men. Probably unlikely.
