Arsenal v Bayern Munich: Arsenal advancing is as unlikely as...

Discussion in 'The Premier League' started by CFC: Champs £launderx17, Mar 7, 2017.

  1. Sanchez is likely to start Arsenal's Champions League last-16 second leg with Bayern Munich on Tuesday, with Wenger calling on the Chilean to show "total commitment" on the pitch. (Guardian)

Seems a bit strange that a manager should tell the press that he expects one of his players to give 100% in an important game!

If Wenger isn't certain that the player will give 100%, then he should leave him on the bench; and if he is certain that the player will give 100%, he shouldn't have to mouth-off to the press.

Where do you think he will go?

Would he stay if Arsene left and they paid him some of AW's wages?

  3. Good question.

I think it depends on whether or not Arsenal show any ambition.

Allegri seems to have made it clear that he won't touch the Arsenal job with a barge-pole, and it's uncertain whether or not Simeone is holding out for the 'Pool job.

If Arsenal were lucky enough to get in someone like Hodgson or Moyes, I can see Sanchez having second thoughts about leaving. If they end up with someone like McClaren or Mark Hughes, then there's no chance.

  4. Actually, I think Claudio Ranieri would be a good shout for Arsenal.

If he can win the title with Leicester City, he should have no problems with Arsenal.

By your definition, they have had many "moral" victories in the CL since 2010. :)

I got 3-1 on an actual victory.

Be typical of Arsenal to win a match when the tie itself is dead.

Anyway, I stuck a tenner on it. (William Hill)

  10. Personally, I think Arsenal will be doing well to keep it down to 0-2, which would be a semi-respectable 1-7 on aggregate.

Might be a decent call that, as Bayern might choose to leave a few of their stars on the bench.

  12. Apparently, Arsenal will be without Ozil.

Not sure whether or not that is going to make any difference to the score.

    I predict an absolute pasting.

The sad reality is this Arsenal team are a million miles away from this BM team, in every position.

  15. That is, indeed, the sad reality, Sky.

I say that with a heavy heart.

Nothing would give me greater joy than to Arsenal do England proud in Europe.

There will be need for wumming as we are destined to be ****ed over again.
Wenger will probably bench Sanchez and Ozil to save them for the game at the weekend.
We will lose 1-3 making it 8-2 overall.

Wenger needs to announce soon that he is going at end of season so that a new manager can be identified.
imo Hoddle would be a good shout what do you think.

  18. He'd be a great shout, but I cannot imagine Hoddle would be so disloyal as to take the job. I think he'd rather polish his bell-end with a rusty Brillo pad, to be honest, G4E - and I'm not wumming when I say that.
