You are a bad girl....I treated that with the disdain it deserved. It is March for heaven's sake.....every team worth its salt is looking around, assessing players. They won't chase more than a small handful of those they look at. And my new beef....why always bloody Barcelona? They can only have one manager and one squad.....not the three they get linked with.
Immediately after telling off Whiteley, I draw your attention to this article....have I no shame It's not even a serious suggestion that we are after Klaasan (whoever he is), but I liked its positive note about us trying for top 6. I am easily delighted. http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2017/03/0...o-all-they-can-to-sign-davy-klaassan-ahead-o/
Just read a piece suggesting that Spurs should go for Redmond rather than Zaha....did at least have the grace to point out that Nathan hadn't been here long, so wouldn't be so easily filched. The point that interested me was that the author assumed Nathan would be cheaper than Zaha.....would he? Nate is important to us and looking like he is getting better and better....we'd demand blood and a pound of flesh.
How many players could we have missed because we painted a line and unlike throw-ins we won't step over it, to go the extra mile?
I wasn't taking it seriously, after all it was only the other day Cedric was off to Man City. It was posted in sheer desperation at getting the discussion onto to something other than throw-ins. Thanks SaintDon!
We probably have gone the extra mile for some we really fancied....except the fans wouldn't know it. And we also have no idea if the ones we'd didn't chase would have been successful. Bigger clubs than us have landed fish who were going to be the next best thing and a couple of years later have loaned them out or sold them. It isn't an exact science.

I don't want to talk us down (I think we're the greatest club in the world) but I don't think Barca would take players off us, even a player like Romeu who came through their youth system. The pressure of the step up to playing and performing well for a club like Barcelona is immense, Romeu has really impressed this season, but look at what happened to Morgan (who was statistically speaking one of the top performing midfielders in Europe) when he went to a "big" club. Before going to one of the top teams in the world, by which I mean clubs in the most competitive leagues for whom success every year is judged simply by titles and not just by qualification for European football, players really need to be playing regularly and shining in those competitions. Bale, for instance couldn't have gone from Saints to Madrid without the time he spent at spurs. For me this is a non starter.
Just don't mention throw-ins. Oh ****.! Teasers - my guesses Who Am I: Oriol Romeu Whose heatmap: Steven Davis Whose touchmap: Nathan Redmond Spot the ball: C
I got two right. The spot the ball was a lottery, but I rejected Cedric as the player because the biceps weren't quite big enough. Which means that Cedric's biceps get smaller when he plays football, so there.
