Or, they could simply insist that the defending players can't go within a certain distance to the throw in as they do for free kicks. I would like to see the Lino put down a dob of magic foam as well. It winds me up when players steal 20 yards. And whilst we are at it, the first player to touch the ball has to take the damn throw in. Throw ins are a bit lame, as dead ball situations go.

I thought there was a distance within they must not go. Don't know what it is, mind you.

On another topic, the full 90 minutes of the Watford match are out: http://www.footballorgin.net/2017/03/05/epl-watford-vs-southampton-full-match-replay/

Just watching the 90 minutes from Footballorgin for the very first time, and OMG, look here. This is where I've paused the action:

Co-commentator says, question marks over whether this goal should be allowed or not. Kaboul's foot on the pitch. Wasn't spotted by the officials <laugh>

Sorry about the blue arrow. Nothing I can do there.

The best part of this thread is that a dispute over a throw in that has led to a goal in a game we won has had more arguments and posts than a disallowed goal in a cup final.

If we could have had one incorrect decision go for us I know which one it would have been. :)

Bit of trivia: Just watching the 2nd half of Watford match, and Gabbiadini has just run around the RB and beaten him for pace, only to not shoot or pass properly, and the move came to an end. The peculiar bit was that the RB that he ran past was ex-Napoli teammate Miguel Britos. It's a small world.

That was way better then the highlights. They cut out a lot of pretty good stuff. Even Saints did with their highlights.

The Lamborgini/Gabbiadini song got sung at least 3-4 times. We had loads of shots on goal. Watford were actually pretty good early in the first half and Saints were slow at the beginning of the 2nd. Gabby scored with his very last touch of the match, and became the first Saints player to score in his first 4 Premier league games.
And just to cap it off, Watford had a throw-in, in the 2nd half, and the officials blew up because the player's feet were over the line, to the ironic cheers from Saints fans who knew that the first goal shouldn't have stood. The ball was given to Cedric, who promptly foul threw [ball not behind the head] but got away with it. Brilliant irony. :)

He should've scored then, but he didn't want to shoot with his right foot.

Think he was the first to score in his first 3. Not just breaking records but well and truly setting them.

I think Camara just managed to score in his first 2. Goals against Birmingham and Everton but then didn't score again until April against pompey

Just checked FA cup too and he did indeed score (twice) against Brentford after the Everton game.

    I stand corrected :)

This is the rule in Futsal. But some leagues enforce a 3 second time limit, though not sure that's a proper rule.
You still have a man marking each player so it's still a case of dropping a shoulder and finding a yard of space to receive the kick in.

That illustrates the point Vin was making, i.e. that's a legal throw as the slightest of his heel is on the line. The commentators were wrong as well.

No one throws flat-footed....if your foot is that far over the line, your heel must be raised and no longer in contact at the moment of throwing.
