Indeed. I've seen plenty of published info about Katharina's intentions. She will sell, but she won't be irresponsible. She also might keep a small stake in the club for legacy.
She is actively looking to sell, that is the feeling within the club. Also the feeling outside the club by the press etc. She will only sell us if the right person comes along, but there are plenty of interested parties. Like TSS said she may even keep a small amount of percentage as well. It's why I am glad we won't have Europe this season. This summer is going to be very busy as it is.
As you say there has been plenty of speculation, a lot not based on any real facts. I read posts saying that her motives are to cream off as much as she can make, I can't believe that. I am sure she has stayed on longer than she intended to and I kind of hope that the Club means more to her now than it initially did, but I am a dreamer and could be horribly naive and have misread the truth?. Who really knows her thoughts at the moment?
I overheard this conversation between two Chinese students in a noodle bar in Burgess Road yesterday. First Student: 这是非常时髦的,我们购买英式足球俱乐部。 Second Student: 我们要买足球俱乐部吗? First Student: 你有多少钱? Second Student: 约七磅。 First Student: 这将是很多我们为朴茨茅斯投标。
Because that is a genuinely funny forum based bit of humour. You'll have to stop all this. Start patronising posters, St.G. Apparently I'm an expert at doing it.
Reading the Chinese article which the kid links his report too and the Southampton comment is just a throwaway line, which could have been poorly researched and based on the exclusivity reports from earlier in the year. The stake only claims are just speculation on his part. I'm sure we'll hear more soon
It's certainly not the end of it; were we merely aiming to sell a stake and leave it at that (if that's indeed what has happened; Lander's adventures with the media are a bit odd), it's entirely possible that a controlling stake will still be sold. Otherwise, we would not be getting recent leaks from one side or the other -- almost definitely ours -- about other interested parties waiting in the wings.
Defintely prefer if it was an large investment and that Kat remained in control, even if it is just short term to ease the transition. That way it will keep things steady and if the new investors prove to be a pain Kat still has the power. Also the investment is necessary to help us grow to the next level. I'm staying positive and looking at this as progression.
There are some bloody awful owners out there. We are fortunate to have a good one. So it's hardly mad to hope things might stay as they are. Every time I read something about Coventry, I shiver.
I have searched all of the usual web sites and can find no evidence at all to support this claim. If it is true, it is very well kept secret.
