As our famous lyrics go :- 'We've been through it all together, and we've had our ups and downs'... Given the choice, if we had the option to change our Chairman, would we take Peter Ridsdale back? Yeah, Ridsdale made mistakes, though his heart was in the right place, Bates on the other hand knows how to save money, and wont be walked over?
Dont forget Bates got chelsea into massive debt and were losing money hand over fist, only a russian who was desperate to move to england saved him and that will happen at leeds if he decide to loan 70m for the hotel and casino
I was very anti Ridsdale until I read his book 'United we fall', he admits his mistakes and talks frankly and honestly about his time at ER. I also read O'Learys book 'United on trial' which left me with a sour taste in my mouth.
peter loved tyhe club there was no doubt about that but he got too carried away with himselfhis heart ruled his head I had long conversations with him in Barcelona and Madrid when he was very forthright the trouble was he was surrounded by yes menhe introduced me to the board who were only there to say yes to Peter
Bates on the other hand sees Leeds as a cash cow which is there to be exploited he has no interest in the supporters or the club so I would have Ridsdale but with no men not yes men to help him make decisions
To be fair... If we are all honest we loved PR Peter.... And when we were flying it's was the best feeling in the world.... But the fall was worst... Bad management without any real business planning....he put it all on black and it game up orange (won't say that other colour) Bates ... Came in when everyone else did nothing even though they bull ****ted they would.. We owe him that ... But maybe time to move on soon So to be fair neither of them... Maybe if you merged the two we would have the perfect chairman RISBATES
Spanish White, quite amusing comments given the crap we were given on our board by you guys when the Riddler was our Chairman. Hey ho. Most of us are glad that he's gone, but appreciate what he and Dave Jones did for our club.
