Off topic for you history buffs. a book. White Cargo. The forgotten history of Britain's white slaves in America, (500,000 of them!) By Don Jordan & Michael Walsh. Makes you think!
One's a bald, sunken-eyed weirdo, who's known for his fondness for the dark arts and associating with similar, horrible people. The other was in The Addams Family.
I see John Terry's house got burgled whilst he was away skiing, trying to angle a move to Mouseland is he? Couldn't have happened to a nicer chap. Bet he avoided the Black runs though, he probably thought they were for foreigners.
What a crazy fight. Might not be a classic on quality but to see Bellew, the massive underdog showup and gain a lot of respect in doing so, only for Haye to get injured when he looked like he was winding it up yet battle through it for 5 rounds. Just incredible and much, much better than expeted. Hope that's Everton's winning done for the weekend!
Me too, thought Haye's power would be far too much for him. Not the first fight Haye has fought with injury in though. Disappointed.
Ideal opportunity to mention just how poor refs are... Should be been stopped in the 6th. Peg-leg Haye was out on his feet. Fat-boy Bellew punched like my nan. And that arse licking at the end was cringeworthy. Eeeeuuuuugh
As they said in the commentary, he was still able to defend and punch back so it was really down to Haye and his corner. Bellew made it clear he should never be up against a decent heavyweight though, as you say he punched himself out and couldn't really hurt a one legged, and essentially one armed. The end interviews were really cringe though. Haye clearly was pushing the rematch and didn't want to use the injury after the **** he caught for talking about his broken toe after the Klitschko fight. Bellew talking about it as a victory was embarrassing and I hope he doesn't genuinely go after another heavyweight fight because he will get hurt. A rematch would be terrible too, I hope Haye has the sense and money to retire when he doesn't get it.
Should have stopped it at round 6 because Haye looked like he was going to take a beating. He should have taken a beating. We weren't to know Bellew's punch wasn't up to the job Haye's spent all his money. He'd love another easy pay day at Goodison. He needs some easy pay days. It's a bit sad really but I can see a rematch on the cards Joshua laughed at Bellew and rightly so
Anton Walkes getting on the scoresheet for Atlanta Oh, wait, Anton Walkes is getting on the scoresheet against Atlanta...
Hearn will ensure there is a re-match. It's all about money. It's easy money. This was a parochial British fight that attracted interest here, but was totally irrelevant everywhere else, especially in the U.S. Haye is a spent force and Bellew wouldn't have a prayer against a taller, heavier, more muscular, more athletic, younger, quicker fighter with a punch like Joshua. But boxing has always been about the show - it's a circus, not a sport, most of the time.
