oddy! I'm fine now. Are you still hurtling round the planet making out you actually work? Still in Berlin?

cats! Having real problems with the blog: adverts have gone missing and half the time I can't update the bloody thing! On top of that, it appears my ISP has been fiddling about with whatever they fiddle about with and we're only getting intermittent internet acces. It's probably me screwing it up, but, what can I say...I'm old and stupid, so I blame it on everyone else.

Ron! Long time no speak, mate. Hope you are well, too.

You'll all no doubt be glad to know that I've cut down on my drinking, and now go down the boozer at 12.00 rather than 11.00.

    Morning all.

Catterick 6.55. Valley of Hope to reverse the form with Stormy Whatever. Bit of info from when we were at Catterick with Dapper. Have a look at VOH in the race, the rider pulls sharply left just before the finish for no apparent reason!!

Also worth a decent bet on the r/f i would say.

4 years for HoJo seems pretty lenient. Not sure how old he is but does that effectively end his career?

Having just read the BHA report into Ho Jo.

3 years for the Striking Article incident
1 year for anabolic steroid use

All I will say is that its a very sad day for racing and I hope he never returns to the sport. The Striking Article report is very sad to read - https://www.britishhorseracing.pres...ses/Result-of-Howard-Johnson-enquiry-20a.aspx

I won't go further than say - Mr Henderson was very lucky with his punishment for drug abuse

I don't want to keep making off topic posts so had better give a selection for the day really. Was looking at the nursery at Newcastle (2-45) today and quite liked the look of Justine Time. Now that Lady Caprice, who beat her last time out, is a non runner I'm defintiely going for her.

    5.40 Captain Kolo

For obvious reasons. Newcastle heavy ground and the clue is in his name (not that he is a drug user)

Very sad day for racing and Mr Johnson is an absolute disgrace. I think, from a personal view, the shocking thing is that I really never thought he'd be capable of that sort oif thing., Maybe my judgement was clouded by the way he managed to coax Inglis Drever back to such fantatsic form.

It does seem very lenient though - he really shouldn't be allowed back in the sport.

A word of warning to anyone backing Firdaws should take note of Eswarahs first foal who, although impecabily bred, turned out to be a shocking sort. maybe firdaws is different but i would tred with caution, and the price is ridiculous.

As someone rightly pointed out that they're nightmare races, why don't we all put up a selection in the first and last race at Catterick tonight just for a bit of fun- no gloating or insults or quoting Shakespeare if someone does better - just a bit of fun to try and get some harmony back. You don't have to give reasons for the selctions either:

I'll go with Resplenedent light in the first and Spin a wish in the last.
