Yep those 3. I always liked Kagawa (he was with us for 2 years) but he just couldn't adapt to the speed of the PL, that can be a problem with some players who look great in slower leagues.

    Why?
Maybe he did try but found it too hard and quick for him?

He didn't want to be here, it was clear as day for all to see. Didn't help that he was asked to play out of position. If memory serves me right, his loan was cut short by Dortmund too because it wasn't working out.

He might not be good enough for the PL, the fact is we don't actually know because he wasn't given a fair crack at it in the very short time he was here.

I am probably coming over all wrong, I am not saying any of them are bad players, just countering Jimmy's assertion that Dortmund could break down packed defences because of them. The fact is they played in a league where the opposition is not so "in your face" as the PL and so had much more time to control the game when at Dortmund.

Teams do naturally play more expansive football in Germany but to imply that Dortmund only scored goals on the counter is absurd.

They were still able to play through teams - which was made easier by having creative central midfielders, maurading full backs who genuinely supported the attack ans provided width, and a fella called Hummels who could play from the back.

And given that you watch Liverpool so much, I'm surprised that you say that Dortmund play in a league where it's not in your face but if you look at the games that we lost, you'll notice that the opposition have let us have the ball and gave us a lot of possession.

If teams are parking the bus against us, it means they're not attacking us which means they're not in our faces as you say. Slightly contradicting, Diego.

Or it could it be that some players may need time and games to adapt? Surprising you're quite dismissive of such players when your best player (de Gea) took a while to settle.

They don't offend me at all, I just wonder at the need to use them when they are not part of your normal vocabulary.

You are completely missing (or avoiding) the point, a team that parks the bus allows you so much of the pitch, when you become a threat they are in your face 2 or 3 at a time in a confined space which makes them hard to get through.

Most players need time to adapt but you can usually see within a few months who is not going to make it (which is why I am worried about Pogba, doesn't look much better than the kid we let go), de Gea always looked as though he could adapt.
I never dismiss players without reason, I told you all Can was not up to it and now it seems some agree (though I was a wum at the time), I said Coutinho was a 1 in 5 player again some now seem to agree, I said Firmino was a 1 in 8 player (not his fault, he is a great second striker used wrong) and some would now agree. I have never dismissed Matip (even though he has had the odd dodgy game) because I can see he will make it at the top level, in fact I have never called most of your players (certainly not as many as you) because I rate most of them quite highly and just think many are doing a job out of position.
I get a lot of stick as a wum on here for telling the truth just because I am a red manc, some know when I am serious and agree or discuss with me, others just stay in the safety zone by calling wum.

I have to disagree, carl. We repeatedly start slowly against the "lesser" teams, apparently thinking that all we have to do is knock it about and we'll win. We don't show any energy and pace. Against stronger teams we come out of the blocks firing, This change in attitude is fatal.
We can analyse each game to death, but for me, that is the crucial difference.
You watch the next few games, see the difference when we play Burnley to when we play City or Everton. It's happened repeatedly this season and it frustrates the hell out of me.
It's all down to attitude, imo.

CAN did well yesterday, apart from he nearly get the second yellow and being sent off.

As as mentioned previously, Dortmund a lot of goals through different avenues - gegenpressing, playing direct, playing through teams. Saying that the buli is not as in your face is disrespectful because it's a very intense league where players run more on average than the PL.

I don't think football is a matter of life and death. I assure you, it's much more serious than that.<ok>

You are right. With players like Aubameyang, reus, and so many more dortmund have far far more quality than us.

They taught spurs an absolute lesson last year and we only won through cos certain players of their started just putting it out and allowing pressure to build. Hummels did. We got set piece goals off them.

If hummells passed it out in certain times they could have hit us more but they shut it down too early.

    Even talent needs to learn.

What a day we had yesterday....haven't seen the match highlights yet but we were a tad worried that Can would be sent off at 2-1 and it looked like Couthino was fouled In or near the box in the first few minutes at 0-0. Hard to tell exactly from behind the other goal.

    Atmosphere was fantastic.

Am looking forward to same again next week...although hope we score early or it could be another one of those days again.

Loved Klopp's interview afterwards that I heard in the car on the way home; one of the challenges when building a young team is to iron out the inconsistencies....it's normal. Let's be honest, if we start to always beat the defensive teams...we'll be one of the better teams in the league.....because we rarely lose to the big boys.

In all seriousness, there is no "truth" to be told - it's all just a matter of opinion.
If you come on here claiming to see some objective truth that is mysteriously eluding the rest of us then of course you're going to be called out as a wum - what do you expect?
As for a "safety zone" - have you ever read any of our posts apart from the ones you feel you can safely take issue with? The opinions cover a wide spectrum and certainly don't toe some sort of party line about everything LFC being wonderful.
You may be right about some things, but like all of us you're wrong about others - and to claim you've seen a truth that we poor deluded Scousers are only just catching up with just comes across as arrogant and so it's not surprising it doesn't go down well.
