Bellew wants Wilder as well apparently... Why the **** not! I'd ****ing pay to see that with Haye/Whyte on the undercard.
Joshua is still vulnerable in many aspects of his game, many of the top pro's point this out regularly. He's beaten nobody yet, and I certainly wouldn't say he's considered the best the division has seen in 'decades'. Joshua probably would batter Haye into a mush, but there's no need whatsoever for that fight to happen, Joshua needs to cement his legacy and Haye won't be a part of that. AJ needs to beat Wlad, them Wilder and then go for Fury and eventually unify the weight division. I think he can do it, as long as he doesn't concern himself with stupid fights for the box office money. Bellew won't get Wilder imo, or any other self-respecting heavyweight.
Feel abit sorry for haye because he was winning the fight before the injury came. Bellew didn't have the fire power to get haye out of there to. Ok fight and hopefully there to be a rematch for haye.
He was winning the fight mate you're right but it was going as expected, he hit Bellew hard and never put him down. I think the fight could have taken more twists and turns, and I hope we get to see it again and both fighters stay fit. One thing I'm certain of is if it was the other way round, Bellew would never have made it to round 11.
It wasn't going as expected for me lol thought haye would of knock him out by round 4. Fair play to bellew because I thought when haye lands one he would go. I was abit disappointed in bellew for not putting haye away when he got injured. If it was bellew who was injured then haye would of put him away big time.
I think he tried everything he could to knock him out pal but he just doesn't hit like a heavyweight and had lost the ability to throw combinations after a short while. Good fight in the end.
Maybe I shouldn't have been surprised looking at Bellew's record but I was disappointed as well Baz. For me the fact that Haye survived for so long after his injury said less about Haye and more about Bellew. I just don't see how he'd survive against an in-form heavyweight. He doesn't have the punch to put a heavyweight down. He should stick to what he does best. At Cruiserweight.
He's obviously gonna chase the money mate, the longer he goes without getting his clock cleaned the better for him. There's no pay-day at cruiserweight for him. There's fights he could take to cement his legacy but I reckon he knows already he'll never be considered an all-time great.
Looks like I may have been a little hasty in my judgement of Bellew if it's true about him breaking his hand early on the fight.
I haven't seen the fight, but the consensus of opinion seems to be that Haye would have probably won the fight had he not knacked his leg.
Disagree with that completely. Before his leg went he had nothing in the tank. He won the majority of the first half of the fight but couldn't get bellew out and had ran completely out of steam. Injury or not I think Bellew would have won in the second half.
I think the consensus is, that Haye massively underestimated Bellew. The injury definitely hindered Haye's chances of landing a KO punch, but of the two boxers, Bellew seemed to have more control of the fight, he knew from day zip it was going over 8 rounds, and Haye was banking on that not happening. Haye knows now, that he can take Bellew's punches and stay on his feet, which means he can approach any potential rematch much more aggressively. Bellew also knows this too, so maybe he won't give him a rematch.
