Unable to find any reference except the interview Balague did with Bale in April, when you'd think he'd have discussed any possible destinations, and which he did: "And since scoring that hat-trick against Inter, your name has been linked with both Real Madrid and Barcelona...." http://www.guillembalague.com/inter...eth Bale on Spurs, Real Madrid and his future I've always found Balague plays down rumours more than builds them up and I've seen him refute or clarify quotes attributed to him quite a few times.
Have to agree with this. As much as he has that smug look, and i don't like Sky, he's much more on the ball with transfer talk than any of the papers. Mata for example- said he'd be a good signing, said Liverpool were looking at him, but also appealed for calm and said as of yet there was no bid, which is how it seemed to play out. Torres transfer was an eye-opener as well as he proved me wrong there. Also those suggesting Eccleston is a better option than NGog need to take some medication. He has 12 starts and 21 sub appearances in League 1 and has 4 goals and 3 assists to show for it. How is that better than NGog who has similar or better stats in the Premier League and Europa every year? Fair play to Eccleston who is knuckling down in the reserves to make a last shot at the first team, but he's clearly just not as good as NGog. Stop it!
Agreed! Still don't know how Roma agreed to that -- On topic: If N'gog does leave I fancy us to nick Daniel Sturridge off Chelsea. A bit of a long shot all being considered but I reckon his a good player. Personally I think we should keep loan N'gog rather than sell unless his part of swap deal for Cahill. Why? Because come next summer IF we make it into the top four we can assess whether or not we feel he can be a part of the squad, if not we can move him on and sign another striker. Either way we need a fourth striker next season and if Kuyt retires (Or shows signs of being injury prone w/ age) we'll need a replacement. N'gog has a chance this season to step up, if he does he'll still be a part of the team in coming years.
I'm not so sure about N'Gog :/ He (arguably) changed the game at the Reebok and put you on the upper foot but we need someone who can do well whilst starting. Tuncay, N'Gog, Klasnic and Davies will have to do.
With the news that Bolton have signed Tuncay on a season-long loan do you think you still need N'gog?
Yes. We lost two strikers this summer, Sturridge and Elmander. We have replaced them with another loan and it looks like another doubtful striker.
Good point. Elmander was key throughout the season and Sturridge quickly adapted well. I wonder if N'gog would have the same impact..
Elmander was awful!!! Yes, he scored quite a few this season, but what about the other two seasons where he started every game? Sturridge, on the other hand, is a very good player provided he gets the service. I hope two things, If we get N'Gog, we play him in the same role as Sturridge (you lot say he has pace) If we get N'Gog, he will have to come off the bench in certain games like he does at Liverpool (Owen Coyle sometimes plays three strikers when we are losing, so he will always get an app), now Tuncay is meant to be coming.
It was to do with this article http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/jan/27/inter-40m-gareth-bale I know it doesn't mention his name in it but when it was published balague was like a dog with rabies saying how it was a certain deal on Twitter... He also has a very punchable face
