Bellew coming in at almost a stone under Haye, who's in great shape it would seem. I'd expect Haye to go in well over a stone heavier tomorrow. Bellew's probably gonna think he's been hit by a train.
It was always gonna be the case really, Bellew's gonna need everything to go his way. What makes me have doubts, is that Haye's not had a fight for so long, that you'd count as a real opponent. Froch was saying earlier, it's not as straightforward as many (particularly Haye) are predicting.
Gutted for Haye now, the guy is a ****ing beast of an athlete for staying in there for so long. Bellew wouldn't want to have won like that. I've got a lot more respect for them both now.
Wow!! Haye showed some grit there! Yeh! A lot of respect there for both of them. A re-match is inevitable after that.
Haye showing some real class as well there post match saying Bellew done him fair and square. Great fight.
Shows how fake all the pre fight bullshit is, as soon as it's over they're best buds and saying how awesome the other guy is.
I doubt it would have been mutual respect had Haye steamed through Bellew. You gotta respect each other when you both give everything.
There is an element of that for sure but you have to admit that they ham it up like **** beforehand in order to generate interest, when in reality they both get on great. I think it would have been the same regardless who won.
Great fight. Haye should be retiring now. His body can't do it at the top level. Putting him in with Joshua would be absolutely irresponsible.
I disagree, Haye had no respect for Bellew and you could tell that. If he walked in and knocked him out first round, he'd have laughed at him and made a beeline for Joshua. Bellew already respected Haye as a fighter. There's a lot of hot air for sure, some boxers need that to gain an advantage, some don't.
Depends what his injury was. I think AJ would give him the fight and for anybody thinking AJ would just punch through him, the fight we've just watched should show them that it's not always that cut and dry. I think Haye has been finished for years and I had suspected a possible upset from the day the fight was made, but def have a lot more respect for Haye after that.
I respect him for being gracious having lost but as a fighter AJ is head and shoulders above what we've seen in that division for decades and he'd obliterate Haye. He'd be too big, too slick, too fit and far too powerful. I think Haye would struggle with Dillian Whyte now. That's a fight I would ****ing love to see. Think it would be a very, very even match up if Haye could get back to fitness.
Maybe I'm too cynical, I just see the contrast between the attitudes of the fighters before the fight and after, the money to be made from the drama and future rematches and it smells like bullshit. This isn't their first rodeo, you'd think if they genuinely hated each other then having a professional boxing match wouldn't change much.
