I know you're right, but I'm just not ready to sign off Europe just yet.

 

If the board (whoever they may be) are willing to spend money in the summer, and can somehow keep hold of Virgil, then next season could be when we finally put a real marker down in terms of challenging for CL football. We only need two or three signings, but in quite specific areas and of quite high standard. (That has been the case for a few summers now, but this will hopefully be the first one where we're not also putting fires out elsewhere in the team in terms of replacing a number of players)

He's probably suffering from the same disease as a lot of lazy pundits who fail to recognise that the league is far better and healthier by having quality players distributed through the league, as oppose to the top 5 having a divine ****ing right to obtain every player that shows passion and form for another club.

They are all at it. Murphy, Jenas, Saunders, the list is endless. Every where you watch and listen.

I keep thinking of making this sort of post, but decide against on the grounds you mention that it's been the same for a few seasons now. The club are making all the noises about this one being different and we have players on long term contracts.

As ever though, the proof will be in the pudding.

Watford have far easier games than us in the next 6. We have to play Chelsea, Spurs and City. And don't forget our 2 games in hand are United and Arsenal. gets 'easier' after that.

No, no no, absolutely no. You're bending to the hype. How on earth does Southampton lose its sell-to-everybody-else reputation and progress if pundits constantly pre-sell our outstanding players. The idea is for the players to stay so that they can achieve their goals with us. Not with the usual boring suspects. Nobody said this about Leicester's players.
