thank **** you won that, after our mess today the worst possible result for us would have been Arsenal getting a point.

We actually need to drub Burnley 4+ - 0/1 in order to send out a message to frighten teams from the lower half but wont happen :(

Out of the "big" teams we only have City to play away left.. Can't quite work out whether that is an advantage or not.

    Not happening. I agree.

Burnely are atrocious away. Us losing is almost inevitable.

Burnely to score on break i reckon.

We need early first goal to open up sides but i predict we pass it about the back and just lay the ball back for 15mins

Yes..but do you not think space happens if you pass as quickly as today around the pitch? Patience is waiting for moving a team out of position not taking 5 touches then over trying the pass.

It always seems our players are looking to unlock a defence as an induvidual...rather than knackering them chasing the ball.

Is anyone shocked that ol jimmy here laid into henderson who was not even playing, stuck the boot into milner and clyne and the saved special praise for his favorites like can.

It does but we also choked it off with a few bad passes and slow play at times.

Every time we played fast we got in.

I agree that few players took very long on it.

I don't know why people are so surprised. As someone else has said great victory but we tamper our elation as this has happened consistently this season. We can beatthe likes of Spurs, Arsenal and City but we flounder against Swansea Bournemouth Sunderland and Leicester.

I personally do not think the players do not turn up. It is just that these top teams leave gaps in midfield for us to exploit with our energy and pace. The bottom teams just pack their defence and we simply have the freedom of the midfield.

We desperately need a plan B to deal with those. We knew that our plan A was effective against those teams who come to play.

Mweh, You can swap Can or Henderson and one week look athletic and aggressive or headless chickens.

Milner is just Milner..except in about 5 games this year where he looked heavy which takes away the only good aspect of his game.

Clyne needs replaced as all he does is allow for the prospect of us being countered..he doesn't add up front but is being forced to be up there. I'd have TAA in more and more until he ultimately replaces Clyne.

Unlike Milner he doesn't have the sense when to not over extend or as pointed out tbf..doesn't have the same protection his side as it's Mane in front of him.

But our play needs everyone sharp at sane time...one having a lazy day destroys the whole thing..unfortunately the bench isn't conducive to cutting a duvet day out of the players

but when teams sit with 9 back blocking up the box every forward AM will have someone close to him but no free space behind we cannot find a productive pass. The only hope then is individual skill by Mane or Couts but that is normally snuffed out by the 2nd or 3rd defender. Then we end up pushing everyone forward leaving 2 split CB's againt oppo CF which in effect means long ball is a 1v1. We need to learn patience and to draw defensive teams out to open up the space / gaps.
    All obviously imo
which may be slightly affected by the wine.<whistle>

But you continue being a hypocritical miserable spiteful **** :)
