Genuine fans don't slate their own players and get behind the team

I'd even support Bullard if he played even though his attitude makes me sick

I think James Chester is one of the best centre halves we've ever had, he reads the game brilliantly.

Hobbs is not as talented, but he's braver and performed well for us last season, so I'm not going to write him off after just a couple of games.

Ayala would have been a great addition and a Chester/Ayala partnership might well have been the best in the league, but it's for that reason that other clubs were interested in Ayala and it's not surprising that we've missed out.

We'll get a replacement, if it's Kilgallon, then I think we've done equally good business.

I don't agree with slating them at the ground, but as they probably don't read these boards I don't see the problem in saying who's hot and who's not.

Hence I can say "Hobbs is ****". Then again, I'd much rather spend the money we were going to spend on Ayala on a centre midfielder.

I have yet to meet a single player who reads the boards and I have met a great many, it's probably a good job(a couple of years ago I tried to get Wayne Brown to take a look, as he was getting a lot of support from the fans while being blanked by Brownie, but he wouldn't look, as he thought that if he started looking when he knew he was getting good comments, he might also look when he was getting bad ones and it might affect his game).

We need a central defender and a striker, possibly also a winger, we have central midfielders coming out of ears, unless we see Jimmy and Oli out the door, I doubt we'll consider additions in that position.

Well if you feel Hobbs is a bad player then i feel for you.

In your post you completely contradict yourself by saying Chester isn't better than Hobbs, then don't recall howlers from him.

Chester better than our player of the season?? I think not. Did you see Gerrard and Hudson for Cardiff? Excellent.

if you read all the posts on Hobbs you will note i have posted my thoughts about him ever since last season. not just abiout the two matches this season. So if anyone is stupid it is you. Read up before you make stupid remarks like he;s a class act.. so dont be a fukcing moron , he's had time .
Chester made two absolute howlers against Blackpool , which was probably one less than Hobbs.

Is he ****e as well then ?

I honestly can't see how anyone can say Chester is better than Hobbs.

Both young lads and both good players who will only get better .

dont recall saying Chester was better than Hobbs. I also dont recall any howlers by Chester even though i sit behind the goal in south stand, must hav missed them as i did the goal, i went for a piss.

    ...........................
maybe i was too busy shouting at Hobbs to get back into position and let Chester play his own game, or maybe i was busy shouting at Hobbs not to leave too much room for Ferguson to have a shot that hit the post, or to pass the ball forward to a city player.

what's the point of this? we don't know the behind the scenes and the player's frame of mind. maybe he didn't want to come... can people stop assuming that when you want a player it's as simple as going in and making it happen. it's not, there are loads of factors. Stop making it sound like the management or club is to blame.

Who is this aimed at ?

If it's me then you need to have another look at what I posted .

I rate Hobbs and Chester( as I have already stated) and have merely pointed out that all those slagging Hobbs have conveniently ignored the fact that Chester makes mistakes as well .

To be honest your post makes no sense .

It's a shame about Gerrard, but towards the end of the season for me he tailed off and it didn't feel like his heart was fully here. With a change of manager at Cardiff that probably influenced his decision to stay there too. If we can get Kilgallon in then hopefully that will be a big help in the defence.

Everyone who is slating hobbs is saying gerrard covered him but gerrard made some clangers in some games namely the boro game, yes he was better than hobbs hes got more experience than hobbs but in the long run i think hobbs will be a better player

I said one of the best, not the best and Gerrard was never our player, we just had him on loan and if we're picking the best, it's probably Turner anyway.

So out of one of the best ever!! He isnt even the best out of the 4 we had last season. Gerrard was the mainstay of our defence, thats why NP picked him and shuffled the others. I do rate Chester but i would take Gerrard over Ayala, Hobbs or him. You got any info on a forward or Cm coming in?

I would have picked Chester to start at centre back for every game last season, my ideal pairing for this season would have been Chester/Ayala, but that's obviously not going to happen now.

I've heard nothing about a striker coming in, though I think our ropey start to the season may result in the odd addition that we wouldn't have had otherwise.

Me. I completely made it up, but he's available, experienced and I think he fits the bill perfectly.

If we were ok for money then ye but surely a striker is the priority. We cant buy a million quid player and keep him as a reserve on what 10 grand a week? That would mean we are spending 23 grand a week for our reserve CB's. Thats madness.
