No I clearly haven't seen you play which I was blatantly clear about but I've seen every game we've played and I can tell you that Monday wasn't a reaction, it was a change of tactics and mentality. So come on then what should we expect from the mighty Hull and what do you expect from us? I wouldn't be using our first game as a barometer otherwise you'll be extremely disappointed.
I know my match threads are brilliant but anyone think it a bit odd a bloke who posts a 117 in 6 years makes 6 on this thread. I'm flattered.
I used to use this back in the day but I use JA606 now but there are no Hull fans on that forum. I know you guys are big on this forum and I wanted to chat to Hull fans so here I am. I'll disappear after this game don't worry
I think this will be the team today, also would like to see at some point Naisse and Hernandez play together, but away at Lesta is not the place, unless later on if we are needing to get back into the game.
You've been **** all season, so I'm obviously hoping that will continue today, a win over Liverpool (who were appalling), doesn't convince me that Leicester have been born again.
Yeah you see this is the problem. You're naive because Monday wasn't just a win against a poor Liverpool, it was everybody doing the basics that won us the league. We're the best counter attacking team in the country and that's our strength. Whether you accept it or not I can absolutely assure you that we have not been set up to play like that this season which is why we've been ****! You won't be getting the type of performance you saw prior to Ranieri's sacking, not a chance, you're going to get the team who pissed the league last season. Enjoy the game
You're very naive but you'll see. It's a pity you didn't see us play last season because then you'd have some idea what you're in for but you keep kidding yourselves until 3:15pm when I think ****, he was right. You are completely underestimating a side who won the league and are on the verge of the CL quarters do you'd better be good.
OK real question for you, why do you think Ranieri changed all what was successful last season (players, positions, tactics) and when seeing it was going wrong why didn't he revert to what had worked? Or is it that the players became a bunch of lazy ****s.
I have no idea what to expect today.as usual first goal is everything.i hope it's a better game than burnley was, apparently I shouldn't have been allowed in.the five games for the price of four starts with the Swansea game.i wondered why my pass was invalid.cheers to the man at the gate for letting me in
So far on this thread, you've told one poster to shut up and accused two of being naive and we're only on the second page.
Last 8 games? What do you mean?! What's changed since we won the league? Well that I have actually already answered in previous posts. In a nutshell, we're a counter attacking team that play with high energy, high intensity, press high up the pitch, move the ball quickly, have two very distinct banks of four and we keep our shape and are very difficult to break down but lightening quick on the break. Add the desire to work for your team mates and expend every drop of energy and you have the side that won the league. This season has been very different. Ranieri has tried to evolve our style of play into a more possession based game and we simply don't have the players to do it. We moved away from everything that made us successful and the result was Ranieri being rightly sacked. Monday was reverting back to what how we played last season. It was far more than a reaction and a win against a poor Liverpool, it was everything about the performance. The high energy, intensity, pressing, quick movement of the ball and keeping our shape at all times. This is because the players understand their jobs. You're going to face the team that won the league, I absolutely guarantee you that. You can all choose to be naive and look at it being just one win but if you do you are going to get a shock.
Simple answer. He felt teams would have sussed us out and played to stop us, which they have but the way he's tried to get us to play we just can't, the players simply don't have the ability because individually they're pretty ordinary but played to their strengths we're as good as anyone. When we beat City last season we'd been sussed out but still nobody could stop us. He needed to have more faith that we could continue to carry on winning games like we did last season and if he had then he'd still be here. You all think I'm talking **** but I know my team and I know what I saw on Monday and you are 100% going to get a very different game to the one you hope for.
I've got a horrible feeling today. I think this game will tell us where our season is going. I think we will struggle to score and I am concerned we are an injury from doom at the back. If we win I'll be bouncing off the wall. It's going to be painful to sit through.
