Not a beer drinker these days Castro but I did try a small glass of larger stuff in our hotel and like larger has always tasted to me, gassy. Chips I do like but not the snails they were cooking down by the docks near to the place where I took the trawler pictures.
Did anyone else see the piece last night on BBC news channel? I thought it was very good, and put Hull in a very good light.
Their lager isn't gassy. They don't put CO2 in it or a host of other additives like we do. The only similarity between the Stella there and that vile concoction sold here is the name. Though you don't see Stella in a lot of posher places, it is known there as a pile it high sell it cheap drink for the working man.
In hindsight this was probably the right decision even though harsh at the time. The vessel sinking would have created a vortex when it sank thus pulling everything around it under with it including the lifeboat. Tough decision but ultimately probably the correct one. Who knows?
There are a few, on here, who use Googling to criticise posters; what next, dictionaries, encyclopaedia, informed articles? Their smugness amuses me. It might have been a Google tool that gave me the correct spelling of encyclopaedia, and I didn't have to ask.
Andrew Searle. The **** him... http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/ten-...-city-centre/story-30039803-detail/story.html http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/snif...s-at-primark/story-30128680-detail/story.html
If I remember rightly his whole article was quite positive, like most in the Guardian have been, but on those comments specifically he is a **** Still chuckling this morning about The Hypocrite. Really was very amusing. Mark Addy was brilliant
Anyone know what the programme was called last night on the news channel? Trying to find it on I player
I went into Hull city centre for the first time in about 5 years yesterday. Humber Dock Street is genuinely good innit? Last time I went down there it was delapidated and deserted, whereas yesterday it was bustling. The number of tourists was also very noticeable. Promising stuff.
That's right didn't see any Stella Castro it just had Premium on the pump and it definitely tasted gassy to me I'm not a lager drinker but I had heard about Belgian beer's/lagers being good, just not for me so I'll stick to the red wine, brandy/lemonade, dark rum/coke, cheers.
