Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a deal to sign Emmanuel Adebayor on loan from Manchester City.

The Togolese striker is on the hunt for a new club after being told he is not in Roberto Mancini's plans for the upcoming season.

Spurs manager Harry Redknapp has been on a look out for a striker to boost his firepower for their Barclays Premier League and Europa League campaigns.

And according to Sky Sports News, the North London club have agreed a deal to take the 27-year-old on loan at White Hart Lane.

Adebayor did go on loan with Spanish giants Real Madrid for the whole of last season and impressed with eight goals.

His preference was to land a permanent deal at Santiago Bernabeu but Madrid coach Jose Mourinho decided against taking the former Arsenal striker in.

Already a hate-figure amongst Arsenal fans for his provocative celebration in Manchester City's 4-2 win over the Gunners, his move to London rivals Tottenham will only do further harm to his reputation at the Emirates.

He's got to be better than that lanky streak of rine Crouch.

What a complete and utter waste of space that penis is.

I think that he's a top striker. I just hope that he doesn't bring his much publicised problem baggage with him. Anybody heard if there's an option to buy in there, as well??

I wonder will he say that a chance to be at Spurs was like the chance of a date with Beyonce...

It would not surprise me if he does his usual -
    1. Spend 3-6 months saying how great spurs are and what a relief it is to finally be at a good team.
    2. Begin to get a bit antsy and suffer a drop in form.
    3. Get in rows with manager and other players.
    4. Move on

Its a bit tragic really because he is a good player who keeps shooting himself in the foot...

As Ensil says, time will tell. Surely, even Adebayor has got to grow up some time soon? Apart from that, unless he's totally stupid, or deluded, or both; he must realise that his future options will be virtually zero, if he doesn't start to behave himself.

Just as a matter of interest, what planet are you on?

    Am I a police officer?

    Am I a teacher?

    A social worker?

    A vicar?

    No.

I am a moderator of the Chelsea board on a site that at best is a little more than controversial to say the least...and the motto at the top clearly uses the word "freely".

So...I am free to engage on any board, just as you are, and express my opinions on whatever I choose...in this case the comparison of Crouch to Adebayor.

I haven't sworn at you, or on the post at all, so I am a little unsure of what your problem is.

    Many thanks.

Except without the small things like better teammates, a better manager, larger wages and a higher chance of winning something. But apart from that i'm sure he will prefer playing for you rather than us <ok>

I also thought that he would have to start behaving himself or it would cost him in the future, then he moved to Real Madrid! He has got to be one of the luckiest footballers around.

Larger wages is probably the only correct thing you've got there. Better teamates??? - Are you sure? have you seen the news this morning?? A better manager - possibly was. However, he seems to be less and less in touch with reality, as time goes on. A higher chance of winning something?? Now that really is funny <laugh> You haven't won a bean in over 6 years; and, I suppose now that Fibreglass & Nasri are gone, your chances have suddenly improved, right??
