There was a time when I would watch any game that was on TV. But that was some time ago. I might watch an international game IF one of our players is playing.
*sigh*. Apologies for wanting my national team to succeed. At least you've seen England get to a semi final. I'll stop watching the Olympics too while I'm at it, **** Team GB.
Saw us play France, Mexico and Argentina live at Wembley in 1966. Subsequently, home from boarding school and watched the semi on TV - jamming my fingers against the ceiling at Charlton's second. The final will stay with me forever ... I don't think "it's all over." C'mon England!
Wanted to attend the semi against Portugal but had to leave London for Southampton to catch a ship taking me to South Africa early the following day. Didn't see the TV coverage either.
Where did all this Team GB ****e come from? It was always Great Britain until very recently, which is much more fitting and dignified. Team GB my arse. I didn't watch one single minute of the Olympics in Brazil and don't understand why people suddenly watch sports that they wouldn't dream of watching at any point during the previous 4 years.
You see more people cycling now as a result of watching it at the Olympics. So you now get dickheads wobbling all over the gaff who think they're the next Bradley Wiggins. Either learn to ride a bike properly or buy a ****ing car. Think Bike. I do. I think what a **** that bloke on a bike is.
Yeah you defo do, it's the new cliché midlife crisis replacing getting stuck into the secretary and a sports car. And Wiggins is such a twat, cant wait until he's outed for cheating.
Funnily enough if a City player was in the England team, THEN it would be different. Once went to see Tony Norman play for Wales at Wrexham ( was on hols nearby) and it was 5hit.
Nothing wrong with cycling or cyclists. It's the dickheads who ride bikes without helmets or no lights at night. They almost deserve knocking off. Cycling is hugely popular in this region. You've probably managed to offend a fair number of people on this board who like cycling.
There's nothing wrong with people who do it properly, but you've got about 50% more road cyclists than we did before the tour de Yorkshire or the olympics and some of them are crap at it, they end up wobbling all over or shooting past while you're at a junction. Personally I find it crap to watch as a sport, bit like cricket. Which literally goes on for months.
I went to watch the Tour de France as the route went directly passed my mate's house. 5 hours of hanging round then they're gone in 10 seconds. What a bag of ****e.
