Billy I wish I could say the following to you face to face because I know it's going to come over as trying to bash you and it isn't meant to be... How do you know Monk was spot on, how do you know he meant this? I believe 100% he meant day one of the season but it's just my opinion just as the above comment is yours.

Quite a few times you post as though you are "In the know" and dismissive to others when in fact it is your opinion...

Example... A few questioned Pedrazza, how did Monk know about him was he a Cellino find... You were dismissive and said Monk discovered him after he left Swansea and did his coaching in Spain.

This turned out to be "your opinion" but you posted in a fact of manner style. Clotet has gone on record as saying him and Monk were aware of the player whilst they were at Swansea, he was already on the radar then the new owner brought up his name again.

Not looking for a war pal, even when I disagree with your posts I can see the point you are making and many a time you have given me food for thought.

WJ makes some valid points and you just get over aggressive because someone sees things different to you <ok>

I don't believe we have the players for plan B I do believe Monk panicked early doors switching us to 4-4-2 and it DID cost us points along with the poor preseason. Who was to blame for preseason Cellino or Monk, it doesn't really matter now as long as we learn from it, these are only my opinions though. I also believe Clotet and to an extent Beattie are every bit as important to our season so far as Monk is, a team effort from top down.

Please provide some examples to back up this ludicrous statement.
I expected better from you than making stuff up just to bash Billy!

WJ. Can't be bothered to respond to that load of old bollocks except no idea why you felt the need to make personal sleights.

Absolutely spot on, a couple more on here should put " in my opinion" before going off on one and stating something as fact, in my humble opinion of course,

    ok Ristac, I'll bite

I didn't say Monk discovered Pedraza at Villareal, I said "there's the link" ... had I been more verbose, I would have said he would have had inside info on Pedraza's progress and no doubt he kept an eye on the lad when he came to Leeds ... remember, Pedraza is still only 20, so would have been way off signing as a player when Monk was at Swansea ... this point was raised originally because it was intimated on here that Pedraza was not a Monk signing, yet another claim devised to poo poo our manager

now as for itk about preparation and fitness ... Monk said, very clearly, that he felt too many friendlies could take away from players after Christmas, and he'd rather save their legs ... no, I'm not making it up

so here's my experience of preparation ... I coached rugby at Prem League level in South Africa for three seasons, and we regularly came up against teams that featured quality International players and world class coaches ... we were a small club that had broken through into the top division for the first time in our history thanks to our U20 Academy and strong Junior section

in the three seasons I was there, we never finished below third against all the odds, and won a fcuk off big trophy in the process ... for our pre-season we only played two friendlies, avoided the traditional sevens pre-season tournaments, and the usual four club tournaments ... we based our decision to do this on the fact that we had a lot of young 'uns in our squad, and we wanted to be getting stronger when the Winter rains came and the pitches turned to mud

we found that it worked a treat, and reduced our injuries while allowing us to surge past opponents in the last 20 minutes in the final third of the season ... we very rarely got hammered, and this focus on stamina and power helped our players to maintain their confidence, belief and focus

when I moved to Bucks I was invited to help a nearby club that played in the Herts/Middx leagues ... they had a great youth setup, but their First XV were consistent mid table finishers ... they had previously won promotion to London 4 on a couple of occasions, but relegation followed immediately on the back of massive defeats ... first thing we did was introduce a proper pre-season, hired a physical trainer, and limited ourselves to two friendlies ... we won the league at a canter, losing just one game, won the Cup and made it all the way to the Quarter Finals of the National Cup, beating teams four divisions above us along the way, all this with pretty much the same squad that finished sixth the previous season ... in my five seasons there we won four promotions, and the club reached the National League, totally unheard of for such a small club that is still amateur

when Monk was asked if a lack of friendlies would harm his team, I absolutely understood his response ... I was fortunate that I learnt from two ex Springbok rugby players who were part of the coaching team at my club, and what we did to preserve players legs worked every season, and I see similarities with how Leeds are doing right now

as for the slow start to Leeds' season, remember that we had massive changes to personnel, so it was always going to take time ... Monk is not an arrogant man, and he never said Leeds would be making a flying start ... he was very cautious, and he knew that it would take time to find his best formation and starting eleven ... to achieve this players needed to be given a chance, and now we are seeing Monk's philosophy and mentality taking root ... we are fourth with 12 games to go, and in with a very realistic chance of making the playoffs, yet still there is negativity aimed at Monk on a regular basis ... if I'm a cnut for fighting our manager's corner, then so be it, but understand this ... I fcuking bleed White, and I will defend our manager when he deserves defending, because right now Monk deserves nothing but our respect and support for what he has done for our club in such a short space of time and under extreme pressure

go and read the words to "Marching on Together" again, it says what Leeds fans are known for, sticking by their team through thick and thin
