    I've missed no point.

If there is corruption why is the focus not on corruption, but on some trumped up allegation of lieing about meeting someone ?

This is just the latest farcical attempt by the democrats to try to prevent the republicans from governing. It's an attack upon the most basic tenants of the american process of democracy.

Perjury is lieing on oath. Ive seen no evidence that he lied. It appears quite clear to me to be an innocent misstatement, mwhen put on the spot about a breaking development. I see no intention to decieve. He has not been found guilty of perjury, and should not be called a perjuror.

Sessions lied to congress under oath.
He wasn't even asked about whether he'd met any Russians, but denied that he had anyway. That's not true.
Turns out he used campaign funds to pay for the trip too, undermining his stance even further.
    "Innocent misstatement"! <laugh>
He said that he hadn't met with any Russians. He had. It really is that simple.

Saying something that's not correct, does not mean that you have lied, and neither does not explaining yourself fully.

He didn't appear to me to lie, there's no evidence that he lied, and if he was tried for perjury he would be found innocent. He won't be because it's fairly clear to anyone looking at it objectively that he didn't intend to decieve, and did not lie.

The whole thing's a farce. Except it's a somewhat serious farce as it's arguably a coordinated act of war against the american government by the democratic party and its supporters.

He blatantly and openly lied about something he wasn't even asked about.
He claimed to have had no communications with Russians, which he knew wasn't true.
How is that not a lie?

Our friends at the Express aremocking about a woman who appeared on Question Time and said she voted Remain because she was concerned about who would serve her coffee at Pret Manger

Funnily enough they made no mention of the woman on Question Time over a month ago who said that, having seen a straight banana in Lidl that morning, she knew she had to vote leave...

Add to that throwing around so many double standards that people need a degree in calculus to keep track of them all, for example saying several times during his campaign that he's have Hillary imprisoned for corruption, yet when corruption emerges within his own camp he comes out with the usual tactics of misdirection and avoidance.

What's more worrying is that Theresa may has adopted the same strategy, for example today she's accusing the SNP of having tunnel vision for another independence vote - yet this is the same Theresa May who had such tunnel vision for forcing through her ideology that she was on the verge of making herself a dictator until a timely challenge to the Supreme Court slammed on the brakes.

@RobSpur The reason Americans are concerned about any ties to Russia is that they're very dangerous and aggressive. They just took part of Ukraine and there's not a damned thing anyone can do. They've killed numerous opponents, critics and former agents, including Litvinenko on our soil. Again no one could do **** to bring them to justice. They also have a record of bribery and blackmail so it's understandable that there are concerns when you've got government officials lying to cover up their meetings with them, sanctions being lifted, Rosneft shares going to **** knows where and a cabinet full of people with ties to Russia. On top of that, the President won't disclose his own financial relationships, praises Putin, talks down Putin's crimes, lies about having a relationship with Putin, argued against Russia having been behind hacks on political officials even when all the intelligence agencies said otherwise and openly asked for hacks to be made against his political opponent.

No one's being hysterical about this, this is a huge problem and about 40% of America don't even seem to care - including, most significantly, the Republicans who control congress, the senate and the Whitehouse.

You mentioned corruption though. How about that Trump used his foundation to pay off a legal settlement, refuses to place his businesses in a blind trust and then frequently visits his own resorts and doubles the price of Mar-a-Lago membership because you can now dine with the president and whichever foreign leaders he brings there? Oh and he made a significant donation to an attorney general, Pam Bondi, who had announced they were considering investigating Trump Universtiy, only for the investigation to be dropped. When that last one broke, Trump, as usual, lied about having never met her.

That's all without touching on any of his politics that has little or nothing to do with Russia. Trump's ****ing scary.

Totally agree! Only in America could a blatant charlatan, like Trump, get elected.

He tells the redneck inbreds what they want to hear - namely that it's all the immigrants fault ( sound familiar?) and they swallow it hook, line, and sinker.

The real irony (and the reason I didn't namedrop the Mail) is because the Mail took the piss out of "I left because of straight bananas" woman, yet what was on the Mail's front page on the day of the EU Referendum?

So not only are the Mail cultivating stupidity, they're mocking their own readers for believing it!
