Shoah is a brutal, horrible film/series. It's 10 hours in total, btw.

I've been watching the BBC doc 'The Great War', never seen it before as It's never been repeated to my knowledge. The whole series is on YouTube.

    The one from the 1960s?

If so, it's excellent and is clearly the template for TWAW.

True but due to the increasing number of theatres/stories to tell as the war progresses, it makes it difficult to tell a compelling and contained narrative and still be linear within an hour.

That's the one, I heard it was essentially the First World War's version of TWAW, so had to see it.

Sorry for getting back on topic, but I've just thought.

Ffs Southgate, get Big Harry signed up before one of Wales, Scotland or Ireland realise he has a great great great great great Grandad who once went to their Country on a fishing trip or something <yikes>

Prior to promotions to Premier league, I was really into Team England. Same City crew would meet up to watch every game on a pub tv screen. When we play against them week in, week out and wishing them ill, it somehow became more difficult to get behind the same players for England.
And no I wouldn't want any City players in the England squad, having their heads turned by prima donnas and risking injury.

He's from Yorkshire. Just wait until Denmark or Norway come sniffing because his 35x grandad was a Viking.

He could be a descendent of the Beaker Folk. Better get him an England cap before one of the Iberian Peninsula big boys snap him up.

    Bit surprised at this.

For me City winning the Premier League like you did would be my preference all day and night long.

Can't think of anytime I'd choose England over City.

The Dawsons are actually from Northallerton, N. Yorks., but with N,O,T,H,A in both place names it would be easy to confuse the two. Said he sort of seriously :)

I used to really struggle with the club vs. country and would I rather England win the World Cup vs. City win a trophy debate. I think the 1996 semi-final against Germany is the most excited I've ever been about a football match and most I've cared - even more so than the FA cup final. Now it's no contest, I barely know when England are playing and think they're mainly just a bunch of ****s - if the players don't care about playing for their country then why should I?

That said, would be pissing my pants with excitement if Harry got a cap. Cricket is the best analogy for me here, love to see the Yorks boys play and do well for England.

Somewhat of a diversion but not worthy of a new thread. Which players have served Eng, Sco, Wa, Ire or N.Ire. whilst playing for City prior to recent (Premier League) times. I can only think of Alan Jarvis and back then they reckoned if you were Welsh with a pair of boots, you were in!

There must be a list of players who've won a cap for any country whilst on City's books, I'd be keen to see it - must be more in the last 6-7 years than the rest of our history put together

They must be pre-internet and no football coverage days (here in Canada) because although I've seen references to Fettis and Elliot on this forum, I have no clue about any of them but will look them up. Is Carroll the gk who played for Manure?

Here's all you need to know about Alan Fettis, you might recognise the other scorer

    And here's Elliott for you:

Yup, that was the Caroll - regarded as **** for them but was great for us
