Hardly worst signing of the season, he wasn't expensive and has done ok since being totally written off, Not even the worst GK signing this season thanks to Bravo I'm trying to think of ****e Everton signings, but other than Williams I can't think who you signed! One of your top targets went to Spurs, fortunately for you.
Bolasie who was doing well before getting crocked for a year Gueye, who's one of the bargains of the season Lookman, looks promising but is only 19 Valencia (on loan) works hard but is a bit meh Schneiderlin, now fully match fit and has settled well, looks a class act
All solid transfers tbf. Bolassie splits opinion but I personally like his rawness and unpredictability.
He was overpriced for sure, but he did offer pace and penetration, a real threat when he's on his game. I hope the cruciate op doesn't cost him his pace though.
I'd say the worst not606 signing of the year is the New @Hoddle Is A God Absolute dullard of the highest order.
At least the old one was good to take the piss out of. The new one is just a whinging victim, who still knows **** all about football.
Playerd in Spain , got loaned out there a few seasons .. averaged a goal every 2nd game . Our new American owners were under pressure from the fans to spend and they spent 15 million on him . Hope they learned there lesson . 14 appearences , mostly off the bench and 1 goal . Were a club that prides itself on net spending so our " Highest Transfer spend was a kick in the nuts basically .
David Luiz has been a very good signing. Most people took the piss when we re signed him, and I admit I was highly sceptical myself. But his time away has matured him as a defender, he is far more controlled and less prone to mistakes now. Not the best signing, but a very good one, who has pleasantly surprised me
Agree with this. Has been the best defender we've faced this season. I'd put him as 1, 2 and 3 in fact.
... hindsight is a wonderful thing ... his two goals against Barcelona in the International Champions Cup pre-season promised good things to come ... and he has shown flashes in other games ... but he does seem to have a bit of an attiude problem and certainly is no wide player - where Ranieri tried to play him to accomodate both him and Vardy together. Realistically, he needs to be played through the centre and probably not paired with Vardy - too similar. Wouldn't give up on him entirely unless his attitude positively stinks off the field too. There is a player in there and he's only 24 ...
well, West Ham have a few contenders, Gokhan Tore, Andre' Ayew (though he may end up being ok), Nordveit, Calleri, but I have to go for Simone Zaza, he was perhaps the worst footballer I've ever seen in a hammers shirt, and that includes kids playing in the park. He couldn't pass, his flick-ons generally went in the opposite direction to his intention and I'm not sure if he ever got a shot on target. It comes as no surprise, though, that since he left he started scoring, including a winner against Real Madrid. he was, quite simply, appalling.
Ah, but is it because he has improved, or because he has the Mountain that is Kante playing in front of him, much like the hapless Leicester defenders did?
