So far this year he hasn't scored against Man U, Liverpool, City, Chelsea & Everton. Just the one goal against Arsenal, certainly not a big game player.

 

Games against rivals tend to be tense and have less goals not many strikers have good records against rival teams. I think that Kane needs to understand that in these games he won't get the usual service so he needs to contribute in a different way. Spurs could do with him defending from the front when they are under pressure, I'd like to see more running, more closing down and putting defenders under pressure in the bigger games.

Well I don't want to see it but that's what he should do.

 

To start with, as of last November, Kane had scored three in four games against Chelsea, and five in four against Arsenal.

The others I'll look at.

I think that regardless of his overall record it's clear that he does go missing in some of these games. He needs to change his approach to these games. Like I said a lot of strikers don't get goals against rivals but the really good ones work hard and have an influence in other ways, when Kane struggles in top games he becomes a passenger.

 

He gets isolated too often when we're not playing well - as against Liverpool. Like most out and out strikers, he needs service.

I like him, he's got a great attitude, and he's proving to be one of the PL's top strikers. And he's still only 23.

 

Will you still like him when he goes to United or Spain?

 

I agree he's very good, if he can change his game and have more influence in the bigger games he really could get you points when you really need them and not by just scoring.

 

He may do one day. But not yet.

 

With no European football looming on the horizon that maybe sooner than later.

 

Your arguments are somewhat confused, Mr Marks.

On the one hand, you try to denigrate Kane by saying that he isn't a top striker; then, on the other, you state that he will leave us for United or Spain, implying that he is a top striker.

People want to hold a decent football conversation with you, but you make it impossible with your logical inconsistencies. Some might put that down to your having a very limited knowledge of football, but I wouldn't go that far. My belief is that you are pushing the wum-envelop beyond its practical limits, leading not only to a wum-failure but also to a breakdown in your arguments.

I am sure that I am not the only poster who finds you to be very frustrating, Mr Marks. You seem to have some small ability to argue football, but your persistence in third-rate wummery is your continual failing.

The old HIAG would not have taken the time to point all of this out to you (for your own benefit), but would have engaged you in page after page of pointless wum-debate. The new HIAG is not like that.
