Hodgson is now hot favourite for the job ... two days ago it was Nigel Pearson ... funnily enough Ranieri never was the last time <whistle>

I'm guessing he's not this time, either! <laugh>

Who would you like from the favourites list, Fosse?
Shakespeare, Hodgson, Pearson, Hiddink, Pardew, van Gaal and Capello at the moment, apparently.
    Best and worst?

... can't see any reason to disrupt the current momerntum PNP ... Shakey was there with Pearson throughout the "great escape" and was absolutely central to masterminding last season's title winning run .. only Wenger and Mourinho have done the latter ... look what Woy did at Liverpool ... managed a comfortably mid-table team downwards ... we can't afford that in our current position.

Give Shakey to the end of the season and then revaluate ... might be some excellent managers without jobs at that point that we can then look to appoint ... Simione, Emre, Klopp ...<whistle>

Next league game's a massive one. They might leave him in and see how he does for that.
Beat Hull and it makes a big difference to your standing. Lose and you're right in the ****.

Agree wholehearedly ... but can't argue with the reaction he got from the boys on Monday ... admittedly it was against a bunch of pansies with a soft core and excess hair product ... and the Hull lads will be a much sterner test ... but you can only beat what's in front of you (I don't think Mickey Quinn has stopped crying even now) ...<laugh>

Leicester manager search: Roy Hodgson talks to Premier League champions
please log in to view this image

Hodgson has managed Bristol City, Blackburn, Fulham, West Brom and Liverpool
Premier League champions Leicester have held informal talks with former England boss Roy Hodgson about him becoming their new manager.
However, it is thought the 69-year-old was just one potential candidate spoken to in the search for Claudio Ranieri's replacement.
And acting boss Craig Shakespeare could stay in charge until the end of the season if results continue to improve.
Ranieri was sacked on 23 February, nine months after winning the title.
The Italian departed with the Foxes just one point above the relegation zone.
Shakespeare's first match as caretaker manager resulted in a 3-1 victory over Liverpool on Monday.
Defender Danny Simpson said Shakespeare is a "top coach and a top guy".
He said: "He has kept it simple and told us what he wanted to do, which was simple and basic, and we've done that so let's hope we can carry it on for him."
'Public perception of Hodgson is totally wrong'
Hodgson has been out of work since resigning as England coach after they lost to Iceland at Euro 2016.
But his former goalkeeping coach Dean Kiely says Hodgson should be a leading contender for the Leicester job and the public perception of the veteran manager is "totally wrong".
Kiely, who worked under him at West Brom, said: "I can see why he's on anyone's shortlist."
Hodgson, who has been managing for more than 40 years, guided Fulham to the Europa League final in 2010 and had spells in charge of Liverpool and West Brom before he got the England job in 2012.
He took the Three Lions to the quarter-finals at Euro 2012, but two years later they were eliminated at the group stage of a World Cup for the first time since 1958.
Hodgson's team won all 10 matches in qualifying for Euro 2016 but he quit after a 2-1 defeat by Iceland in the last 16 left him with a record of three victories from 11 games in major tournaments.
Former Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Kiely told BBC Radio 5 live: "The public perception is totally wrong to how he is as a person and how the players react to him, which is only positive from my point of view.
"The end of his England reign was quite negative but shouldn't wash away all the good work he had done in the campaign leading up to that and also his club management career, certainly at West Brom."
Kiely said Hodgson "brought stability" when he succeeded Roberto di Matteo at The Hawthorns in February 2011.
"He was great," said the former Charlton goalkeeper. "He just wants to be out on the training ground, with tracksuit on and coaching the players.
"I was fortunate to go in for England training when Roy invited me in. On the grass, he comes alive and the best thing for me was the players responded great to Roy.
"He's a fantastic fella away from football also, very engaging, and the time I spent with him was excellent for me. I learned a lot."

I would think two people in the public eye bitching on twitter or whatever they're on is a bit different to fans discussing football on a football forum that is not in the wider media eye

You are attempting to have a sensible discussion with Sky mate ... little point ... now if you wanted to discuss HIAG's prospects of winning the next Turner prize with his cartoons instead... he'd be all ears ........... and tongue <laugh>

Can imagine Danny Simpson laughing on his phone with Carragher desperately trying to think of something to get back at him with.

Simpson has a Premier League medal yet he's being called average by a man who hasn't. Only right Danny puts the lad in his place. IN BEFORE SOMEONE BITES AND GOES ON ABOUT CHAMPIONS LEAGUE.

... because the article makes it clear that he is just one of a number of individuals that we have spoken to ... it also hints that Shakey will likely be given to the end of the season ... which I'm in favour of personally. The fact that many a numpty has lumped on Hodgson betting wise is actually quite amusing ... the bookies love it .... it was Pearson a couple of days ago... will likely be someone else by the end of the week. <ok>

  17. Ah, that's a real shame, Fosse.

Isn't it time that you let go of the past?

Talk to me without trying to wum, and you will find that I have plenty of good conversation in me.

The old HIAG might well have presented a cartoon depicting a rutting stag taking a poor, defenceless young Bambi up the arse with his massive stag-tool, and using that as a metaphor for what is happening to LCFC, and I am sure that you and other Foxes found such imagery unpleasant and alarming, but that was the old HIAG. The new HIAG would rather talk his way around the subject than use such vulgar imagery.

I have moved on, Fosse. Its time you did, too.

... wasn't really about you ... just a suggestion for John on subjects that might engage another poster ... I'm sure we have all embraced the new HIAG <ok>

In all seriousness, though, Tobes... I do get the feeling that a couple of posters on this board haven't yet accepted the fact that the old HIAG has gone.

That's okay. The new HIAG is a patient man, and he will wait.

Incidentally, I was listening to TalkSport this morning, and there was some bloke with an American accent telling us that Leicester City would be lucky to Hodgson. I didn't catch his name, and couldn't work out if he was someone tied to LCFC or some random punter on the wum. Did anyone else catch that interview?
