I could be wrong but he strikes me as someone with very little ego. This of course could be my saints bias but he strikes me as a very quiet and shy individual that just works really hard. He's only been here for 3 matches but he looked pretty dejected at the end of the game.
I don't want to get carried away either, but keep this team together next summer, add a couple. We could surprise a few.
I'm hoping for a planned and non-traumatic summer and then I remembered the possible takeover. Can't we just have some peace.
Yeah. Not a bad coach though. And Everton seems to suit him. Both Everton and their manager have a slightly preposterous swagger, like a bunch of junior office boys on the piss at Royal Ascot. They are always threatening to barge into the members enclosure, where they clearly don't belong; if they do they'll get thrown out eventually, but not before causing havoc and getting noticed by everyone.
We need a new strip for Saturday. Manolo has played 3 times in 3 different strips for us. I think his last two games for Napoli as a substitute were at home so that would mean in his last 4 games he has played in different strips. #latenightboringstat
We all knew that we would end up with that song for Gabbi when he signed, but if we can replicate that each time he scores then I'm all for it!
I just hope the board make sure we keep the key players. I think we may lose a couple of our good players as opposed to key players, IE J rod, Clasie maybe, I think one of the second third in line goalkeepers will go, and surprise, surprise, I think young centre back Stevens may go as we will be looking properly to bolster the centre of defence. You see I think they may keep the new guy with us. All guess work I know but its getting near to that time.................
There is a genetic defect found in many Sotonians and Saints fans and it is called the negativity gene. It means that they don't recognise that they live in a great city and that they have a great club but instead they must be negative about anything and everything.
And as soon as we lose one game, you'll be on here demonstrating said gene, probably predicting a relegation battle
Can't see us letting Stevens go. He has shown such promise and it is in our DNA to rear our own players. And, from a purely business sense, he's worth a fraction now of what he will fetch in a couple of years.
What, the Italian/Polish plumber.? I did think of Marek Saganowski once or twice while watching the match myself, when Gabbiadini's face popped up on the screen. And you never know, it might happen. Saga couldn't stop scoring and then, after he signed on permanently, he couldn't find the net for love nor money, and it wasn't for the lack of trying either. But there are differences. Before Saga came to Southampton, on loan, he wasn't a prolific striker, except in his homeland, Poland, where he was special. Manolo has already signed permanently, so that hurdle is already over and he's scoring freely. He came from Serie A, a notoriously difficult place for strikers to shine. He had been doing excellently until Napoli got a new coach who didn't like Manolo and so essentially froze him out to the subs bench. And in the few minutes he did play for Napoli he still did score well. So even if Gabby's scoring rate goes down to something a little more mundane [like one goal per game ] I think we still might have an absolute steal. I know the local Naples newspapers are pissed off.
Well I think I can safely say that I don't have the negative gene. If there's a positive lurking I generally seek it out.
