Yeah cannot argue with that if I was looking to pick a team that I think can take us on it would be this...

    Karius
    Clyne Matip CB LB
    DM
    Lallana Coutinho
    Mane Firmino LF
Karius isn't going to be popular but we've bought him to be our number 1 and with the right players in front of him I'm hoping he'll come on. Not sure on Lallana still and would like us to have 2nd new midfielder but I just cannot see it so that's 4 players in which is a possibility.

Ita clear that squad is made up of too many squad players and not enough first team players. When on form everyone has slotted in and done great but aren't good enough to be able to adapt mid game when situation calls for it.

From what's arguably out strongest 11, id prob only say 5 are certain first team players. The usual front 3 and Matip and clyne. Argue Lallana/Gini if they play to same level they did earlier in season. Keeper, CB,LB and CM (possibly x3) are all problem areas and have been for number of years.

If we jiat brought in a Cm, CB and LB that were proper first team players then you'd move Milner, Lovren, Hendo to bench and it would make the depth look so much better. You could have a bench of Karius, Lovren, Milner, Hendo, Origi, Sturridge. Now that's a bench that could make a difference (although Studge is off in summer so prob needs a replacement).

    1. Simon Mignolet cannot be blamed for two of the goals conceded last night one of them I reserve my judgement.

Didnt have a chance with 2 or 3. 3rd one was maybe too central and didn't cover front post enough but was a 1v1 and always put money on forward to score

We've got lots of good attacking midfielders. No great strikers. No great holding midfielders, not enough defenders.

But hey, at least we have over half a dozen decent attacking midfielders. I expect us to sign more attacking midfielders in summer.

It really is time for Klopp to earn his 5 year deal and sort this BIG PROBLEM out with the owners ... without resolution that puts BIG CASH t his disposal we shall continue to buy journeymen players on small fees or frees , promote weak young kids from the academy that aren't ready for the job , play players out of position to cover the yawing quality gap we have had in certain positions for YEARS ... and we shall continue to see the same mediocre results ...

If thats the Fenway plan then lets hear it loud and clear - else show Klopp the money ...and lets see if he can really manage as right now he hast got a squad worthy of the name. Just saying ..

Firmino should be a squad player, he's not good enough. We don't have an Aguero, Kane, Costa, Ibrahimovic type of goalscoring machine.
Would love someone like Costa. Gets a goal a game and always nipping at players ankles, giving them no time to settle on the ball. Suarez was a better variant of him.

    Who is out there?

Timo Werner of Leipzig? 20 years old, great conversion rate.
Andrea Belotti? 23. Banging them in for an average Torino side.
Lacazette? We questioned the £60m link to him the other day but he has a good record and conversion rate for Lyon. Definitely better than what we currently have, maybe we should stop ****ing about with transfers and just go for someone decent.

Harsh on Firm. He's not playing on beat position. Problem is I think his best position is just behind front man in that link role and that's not how we play.

When on form hes he's a brilliant player with his movement. But he's not a striker that's going to get 15 goals a season, he'll get you 8-10 in the league

Rooney is becoming a free agent soon, Everton are after him and he would not like to come to Liverpool. Overage players are sometime better,
Zlatan Ibrahimović is doing a good job for united.

He's not about to become a free agent mate, his contract at United runs until the summer of 2018.

However, he will be leaving in the summer, and there's a strong possibility that he'll come back to Everton.

I've never seen him play well in a no 10 role. I've never seen him play well unless its a big game with big opponent giving him lots of space and the team actually supporting him in the press.

I think he's pony. he's not a natural striker nor is he a winger no IMO a no 10. he's a worker with a bit of skill.. he goes missing far too much.

Compare him to costa ffs. its night and day.

3 years after it cost us in the title challenge there's still no plan for how to play without Henderson

How will he be received? Didn't think liked him after his 'once a blue' comment just before leaving.

    Mixed.

The early years after he left he got dogs abuse, in latter years it's virtually gone away.

Blues are split on whether they want him back, some think he's finished, others think he's got a point to prove and would be a good addition.

We'll see, but Koeman has said today that he wants him.

Huge wage for his ability. I'm sure you could do better, even if no transfer fee.

He'd have to take a wage cut, we couldn't pay him what he's earning now, so if wants the move that'll be something he has to compromise on.

I think we could get a good season out of him tbh, he'd be eager to prove that he'd been written off too soon, and being back at Everton would motivate him further I reckon.
