A very small oversight from you kevin. The Empire state building was built in 1931. It was built by ****s who sat on girders to eat their lunch. It was built in a time when building legislation for a building even that size was pretty basic and yet it survived a plane strike and still stands to this day. Because it with stood a B25 going into it, it was assumed safe for future plane crashes, not realising that in 2011 that two planes combined weight 274,000 lb was slightly larger than your example of a dinky toy

This is not true. The Empire state building was built using the building methods of the day. The steel super structure was built one beam at a time where the Twin Towers was built using prefabricated tube frame structural system developed especially for those buildings. There had been nothing like the Twin Towers built before they were built so i don't know where you got this **** from. Just made it up yourself in an Iain styley did you? I used the example of the Empire state building because that building has a fraction of the tolerances that were in built in the WTC. Therefor a B52 hitting it is probably close to the equivalent of the planes hiting the WTC. All things are relative so to speak. There are dozens of examples of fires burning hotter and longer than that of the WTC and the buildings not collapsing. Buildings that are still in use today. But hey if you think that a building of the strength of the WTC can simply fall into itself and turn to dust then fair enough. Bet you canny wait for Santa coming every December as well.
