Ibrahomovich is full of himself, isn't he? All about him. Unlike modest Manolo.....of course if Gabby wasn't modest, we'd never know. Perhaps he screeches 'I'm the greatest' in Italian as he knee slides.*

*Someone should tell him not to do that....his knees are too precious.

****, i'm going to need a new username now.
Name change done.

As a fan of JWP (or more accurately, our academy). I just want to spare a mention for him.

After seeming him put in that cross for Mane against united many moons ago, followed by doing the same thing many times for England u21 in the Tolousse cup I have longed to see him start pumping in balls from that right flank but it's just never seemed to happen. He always seemed to get played as fill in for somebody else, at AM, CM, DM. And he's usual competent, but I never really felt he's being played to his strengths.

This Is the first time I think I've seen him really play how I've wanted to see him play, whipping in crosses all match from everywhere on that right flank. He might not have the pace to outright beat fullback but he doesn't have to when he can put in a cross from wherever. Defenders have to close him down which opens a space in behind for Cedric or Tadic.

I think he's finally played himself into being a first team starter. Who would have thought all it would take was the team not progressing for one season for him to catch up.

Well, duh.

Since when is an opinion any proof of right or wrong. Think you seem to struggle with this concept of people using a forum such as this to state their opinion and feelings.

Not at all. I was disagreeing with your opinion, because I have a different opinion to you - on just about everything football related it would seem, but hey. That's kind of how it works, on a forum that is all about opinions.

How to know if a Saints fan is a ****er or not; Final whistle goes at a an amazing, emotional Wembley cup final, and they immediately head to the exit without acknowledging the incredible effort of their team and manager, and the opposition for that matter (if you can't congratulate the winner, no matter what the circumstances, you are a bad loser). Leaving like that at St. Mary's I understand. We're there every week, not such a big deal. But this game was a huge deal for the club, and I saw thousands heading out bang on the whistle. Would 5-10 minutes really hurt? Do you really need a beer that much?

Anyway, game was great. Very relieved that it didn't turn into a thrashing. We played so well, and if we keep every one at the club this summer, we are gonna be a force next season. Without a doubt. The rest of this season is all about giving Boufal and Gabby continued game time so that we can build the team around them.

Well we certainly don't need another thread to celebrate CBK's particular type of fantasy. Merging this to the main match thread.

What can I say guys and gals that hasn't been said already. Family commitments meant I couldn't be up there with you all but the little snippets I did see of the goals and the fans were out of this world. I just wanted add my congratulations to all concerned you were out of this world.
My big disappointment was I don't have sky....My comittement to the family over sat down to watch the highlights on match of the day..........only to find there wasn't a bloody match of the Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh woe is me.........Proud of you all..........COYS

With 10 minutes to go, I had a vision....
... it was clear, it was real, it WAS going to happen. I have never felt so certain of anything in my life. Manolo Gabbiadini scissor-kicked in an 89th winner from a Cedric cross. Saints won the League Cup. Much rejoicing ensued.

Has a lifetime of substance abuse totally warped your perceptions of reality..? Lay off the wacky-baccy mate, it's for your own good. Whether Claude should have kept Gabbi on, we'll never know. He could barely move though, I probably would have kept him on, but who else do you take off? Maybe a tiring Davis?

What we do know is, your prophetic vision almost certainly had no impact on the game.

For me that ridiculously over the top cockiness is part of his appeal and, to be fair, he is ridiculously good. Apparently he's scored more goals since turning 30 than Michael Owen scored in his entire career.

I don't agree with CBK that the sub was when we lost it. For me, I think I knew deep down that we'd lose when Romeu hit the post. As I said on here the match just had all the hallmarks of a "glorious", unjust defeat in the style of England in 1990, 1996, 1998 or 2004.

How dare you compare Saints to that non-footballing heap of rancid poison that is England.

Unlucky yesterday guys. Dominated us in the semi's and dominated utd yesterday and cheated out of it tbh.
My only negative is that your defence was poor when it mattered

You have to appreciate that our "best" defence was missing, VVD had been "Vardied" and Fonte had deserted, we were left with a raw rookie and very brave Samurai who is excellent, but not quite the class act of the others. The Club has to take some of the blame for not replacing the missing players but that is water under the bridge, no going back, we have to move on and try again.

Really gutting in the end. Deserved extra time at least, but a similar story really to quite a few games where we dominate for large spells and cant get over the line. Can't fault the effort from the players or the manager, it was spot on but we just didn't get the rub of the green. I haven't seen the game back on TV with replays etc of the goals but the number of texts I had, and reading a bit online this morning a lot of neutrals are saying how **** Forster is? Was he awful for all the goals and there was the dodgy kick out from a dodgy pass back aswell.

Gabbiadini looks brilliant, but think it is too early to really know just how good yet. Remember Michu, Jelavic, Cisse? All came in and could do absolutely nothing wrong for the first 6 months or so then regressed back to their actual ability. I am not saying Gabbiadini will be like this, just that 3 games is far too early to really know how good he is.
