Doesn't really tell us anything we didn't already know.
Chairman called a meeting with the players, who all threw the manager under the bus to excuse their incompetence.

If it is as these articles report, how do you explain, or indeed excuse, Vardy coming out in the papers and lying, saying he had nothing to do with it and that the team was 100% behind the manager.....

    http://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/a-long-way-to-fall-for-ranieri-zs7xdb96w

Another good one by Jonathan Northcroft. Northcroft and John Percy have been the fairest and most reliable reporters for Leicester for years and are far from bandwagon jumpers. These articles fill a lot of gaps that are in the hate story being pressed by the majority of the media.

Re your points, that's not what the articles say so of course they tell us something the rest of the media haven't. They explain the crazy decisions that Ranieri was making which drained the teams confidence.

What about the fact the players have their honest feedback which they intended to be for better change but not knowing that it would result in the sacking? If you had a manager at work who was failing and making crazy decisions and someone more senior asked you, would you lie or be honest to hope for improvement? It is obviously very possible that the players like Ranieri the person but we're getting low in confidence from Ranieri the manager. It doesn't mean they wanted him sacked.

He has clearly make drastic changes behind the scenes after last year and torn apart much of what the club had been building for years. On the pitch, he might only have taken us backwards 2 years which is what the bandwagon jumpers see. Behind the scenes, he has taken us back about 6 years to 2011 when Sven left and Pearson came in and started rebuilding. Pearson developed the club behind the scenes with a great scouting system which has been torn apart, sports science which ranieri changed and the psychologist etc. He did well last year as by his own confession he didn't change anything, as soon as he has, the club has gone tits up. This to me explains why he doesn't tend to last more than a couple of years in a job as he is better as an impact manager with what is there but his own tactics and signings have been appalling

I agree with some of your points John ... but also feel that otehrs you make are clouded by the understandable disappointment.

Tactically he was brilliant last season. He abandoned Nigel Pearson's back 5 in favour of 4-4-2 and he changed the full backs after the Arsenal game and brought in Kante ... nearly every substitution he made had a positive effect. Simpson and Drinkwater were not getting any games under Nigel Pearson and look what they contributed last season. Vardy was played wide left under Pearson, Ranieri put hime through the middle. By the end of the season Vardy and Drinkwater were in the England squad and even Simpson ws being mentioned in speculation.

His failure this season more or less comes down to waiting too long to change things; being too loyal to players that have underperformed catastophically for whatever reasons..

Kante who he didn't want to sign until Walsh persuaded him. I agree re last season but behind the scenes he didn't change things, although it must be achknowledged that he made a few on the pitch.
IMO and as per these articles, his undoing this season is for changing things behind the scenes. Did he try hard enough to keep Walsh? He sacked the psychologist in a harsh way not unsimilar to that that people are in an faux outrage about about Ranieri himself. Isn't every person important or just those who are cuddly and lovely in the media eye?
Changing training regimes and sports science etc. All a receipt for disaster and as I say, it's like we are back in 2011

Ranieri would be sacked by the end of next season (or possibly by Christmas 2017, can't recall exactly).

Nothing exciting. A tenner to charity. Such is the PROVE IT nature of this forum that it was queried as to whether he would pay up.
