Although most of you probably never used them and some of you many not even know what they are. The tag and rep function has been removed from not606. In my opinion the tags served a useful purpose when running a prediction league and pre match threads. However, in the main, the tag and rep system was not used for the purpose that it was created and tended to be used for posting abusive messages. Hence they are no more.
I am very happy that the Rep has been removed as it was stupid as I had a score of -69 mostly sent by Newcastle fans who did not like me but the Tags, well I liked them, Mostly that I was top of the tags league Table, LOL, I tagged each of my articles. But overall not too bad, we can get on with this now, it is ok, at least Rep has gone, have to say well done to the Not606 team for getting rid of it as it was stupid to have a rep system on somewhere where you are always going to have people disagreeing with each other.
Hoadie - thanks for your comments. However, from a mod prospective the tags were an absolute pain. I have previously had to remove abusive tags, before members got to see them, mostly aimed at an individual. The problem was individuals could hide behind anonymity. Hence why I sometimes try to give members discreet guidance, also explaining why I advise that multi threads should never be linked into the 'general chat' (GC) section. We have a really good board, where everyone is able to express their opinion freely without abuse, I for one would like to keep it that way.
Yeah have to agree I have seen a lot of offensive tags, many were aimed at me in the past, These ones you had to remove were they aimed at me by any chance or can you not say.
Don't they say that there's no such thing as bad publicity ! Not606 appears to be a lot more sensible than old 606 ( at least on the Gillingham forum ) - have you seen the rubbish in General Chat ?
