Honestly, I think you're looking for issues that don't exist. Just my view. He's worked hard on the pitch, whilst not scoring. It really would be ridiculous selling him at this stage of the season - really ridiculous.

I think he works harder than people think and I wouldn't want to lose him at the moment. He's still better than Niasse imo, and I personally think Niasse is better when he comes off the bench as an impact player (probably to do with the amount of running he does). Abel missed a couple of chances recently, but I think he was let down by really poor service and tactics in the Phelan era. But that's just my take on it.

It's just based on his performances. People sometimes give a player more leeway for a bad performance if he scores goals at other times, which I think is why it rarely gets mentioned. Hernandez is undoubtedly a top finisher which means he scores goals when he gets chances. But 2 out of 3 games he plays he doesn't actually get chance to have a shot because he's not put the work in to get in the box or to fight for the ball so we actually get up the pitch. Then he waves his arms around as if to publicly blame all the other players who are actually trying a lot harder, for not giving him loads of chances. That combined with the fact he misses so many games due to minor injuries is the reason he'd barely done anything up to the Bournemouth game this season, and hasn't done anything since.

You've never liked him.

He's the quintessential Hull City player; makes the easy look difficult and the difficult look easy. Therefore expect two more goals from him this season, against Spurs and Man Hunter.

Well not since seeing him play no, because he's had the same faults from the outset. People moan about over-pampered and precious Premier League players. There isn't a better example of one in our squad than Hernandez. Diame got no end of stick for being inconsistent in a season when he was coming back from a serious injury, yet Hernandez is far less reliable than he ever was and it never seems to get mentioned.

I think it's unfair that some players get labelled sick notes because they have the misfortune to pick up a single very serious injury, yet people like Hernandez who miss 4-5 games with minor injuries on a regular basis are let off.

There was a goal last season where the opposition keeper made a mistake and Diomande had closed him down, nicked the ball and tapped it in. The official club photo of the goal showed, as Dio was just about to nick the ball, Hernandez in the background with his arms in the air having already decided he'd given up on it because the quality of the ball forward fell so far below his expected standards. Dio bothered to chase it and got the goal as a result. Always seems to be the way with our strikers, but if Abel had the attitude of someone like Diomande he'd be so much more useful.

I'm sure you could find the scenario you have painted apply to almost every single PL player currently playing. It's frustration, which means they care and it's certainly not exclusive to Hernandez.

He's a goal scorer, as demonstrated last season. He's the only proven goal scorer we have at the club. We need him.

Don't we have a space in our squad? Can't we sign a free agent like Southampton did?
Is Sylvain E Likes Cake available?

We need Abel, simple as that.
