Wasn't really talking about the early 90's but if you want to argue the toss you were still ****e then as it was only in 92 that you came anywhere near the top.
There's nothing wrong with wanting to win, however, most fans and footballers would like to win things with their current club rather than the route of "oh look they are successful I will support/play for them."
Did'nt every player at Utd from 68 until 92 want to "win something"?,yet many of them are Utd "legends",even some of those that got Utd relegated.
Nope. How many players that go to Liverpool do so because of the great success you had in the past? Many of them mention it as a big part. Liverpools history brings people to the club and what do they mean when they say history? They mean your success. How many fans do the same? Maybe not so much now but in your heyday. Its like you have forgot you were once the biggest and most successful club in the land.
FAO KPR.....There are only 3 primary pieces of silver ware for any top division football club anywhere on earth. The domestic league title, the domestic cup & the continental cup. In England this is the Premier League ( Old first division ), FA Cup and Champions League ( European Cup ). Anything else means you weren't good enough basically and settled for 2nd best. So that gives our clubs the following totals. Liverpool - 18.7.5 = 30 & Man Utd have 19.11.3 = 33. I hope this has helped you see the light and realise the error of your ways. No body, literally nobody counts the League Cup. The Uefa Cup once held a smidgen of prestige but for many many years its been truly awful. If your club aims to win the Uefa Cup at the start of the season it should be ashamed. Reposted that as the thread it was in was closed.
Just like you showed the Salfordite trait in you by swerving why some Utd players post 68 and pre 92 are Utd "legends" when the most any particular one of them won was a couple of cups whilst with Man U. They chose to sign for Man U when in some cases they had a chance to sign for better clubs with better prospects and more success(at the time). Why?
Well that's a strange comment to make (bit in bold) considering you're responding to someone (so not 'nobody') who has counted it. And why should a club be 'ashamed' of being in the UEFA cup? It's the second tier European competition, but you still have to be a decent team to win it.
The honour of playing for United obviously. I also believe they went to United to win trophies. Same reason Torres went to Liverpool, or Gerrard stayed, or Carroll moved to you, Suarez....everyone.
Because its the 2nd tier European cup. Like The Championship is the second tier league and the League Cup is the second tier domestic cup. You dont count them. If we are going compare our clubs lets do it at the level that matters most. The very top! United have never won the Uefa Cup. I hope we never do.
So all clubs below premier league level shoudl be ashamed of themselves then? You talk absolute ****e pal.
We are talking United & Liverpool. Exactly what have any other club got to do with it. We are the 2 biggest clubs in the land and by a ****ing mile aswell. Where did I say they should be ashamed? Im just saying when you are the biggest 2 clubs around you shouldnt be bothering about how many League Cups you have won. Its been a joke for much of its existence and many clubs, big and small don't give a flying **** about it.
So whats your point over Pepe? He signed for us for the honour and the belief we would be successful during his time here. You obviously were born when Utd were successful so you would'nt have a clue about just how ****e Utd were during their time without the league title.
