Chelsea Arsenal City United I think Spurs should be top 4 with the players they have, but they need to fire MoPo and get a mentally strong manager to move to next level. You are very similar to Arsenal in that regard. Of course Spurs can get top 4 though
I agree. Spurs' poor recent performances include: City 2 Spurs 2: lucky point Sunderland 0 Spurs 0: could not beat bottom side Liverpool 2 Sours 0: battered at Anfield Spurs 4 Wycombe 3: lucky win Gent 1 Spurs 0: 1st team beaten by injury-hit Belgian midtable side @Hoddle Is A God ... Your form is poor
Interesting. I think we are, at the very least, as strong as Arsenal, and we are stronger than United. And whilst City ought to be stronger than us, they do seem to be unsettled, this season. In other words, I think Spurs currently are favourites to clinch top 4. The only cause for concern I have is that our squad appears to have very little depth, so that should we lose any more key players, it could cost us. I certainly do not see Poch as being "mentally" weak; quite the reverse, in fact. Time will, of course, tell.
Hm. I'm not sure that you are looking at this with any real impartiality, CFC. The draw at City's ground was hard-fought, and any luck was earned. Not many sides go to City and win, and most are fortunate to earn a draw. I don't see why Spurs' good fortunate should be interpreted in a negative manner. Sunderland are a half-decent side fighting hard for survival. They are a potential banana-skin for any side. I was glad to take a point for that away match. 'Pool always seem to lift themselves for their games against us. It is something that I have observed over many, many seasons. That said, I do think we had an off-day at the ground, this season. Hopefully, Poch learned from that mauling. I cannot see why you point to our ties against Wycombe Wanderers as being indicative of our form. This was a Cup match, in which Poch fielded a very different team to the one he would ideally put up against better opposition in the Prem. Despite that, we progressed. Our form in Europe, this season, has been very poor; I cannot disagree with that. I put it down to lack of sufficient squad depth, and that is something that Poch must work hard with our board to resolve, as quickly as possible. It has meant that Poch has had to prioritise the Prem (which I think has been the correct decision), and it follows that our form in Europe was the most likely to suffer. Otherwise, I think we have done better than was expected of us, so far, in the Prem, this season.
You see no reason to apologise because your two shysters running the club looked at bigger profit than progression in the Ur Ropey Cup! If your Auntie had bollocks she'd no doubt be your bollocky Aunt. Still the same old gimp, eaten away with hatred and self importance.
You need to get top 4 this season. Next season with Pep and Jose upping their game, and your inevitable problems at Wembley, it will be much tougher
Why sorry? We all know what you're like. You're reply 'noted' to my prediction was to be rammed down my throat had our team had the stones to beat a third rate Belgian side. So cut the crap son we aren't buying today.
I feel that you need to help move this forward by apologising to GM mate. Come on, be the bigger man and show us that you've turned a corner
I certainly agree with you that both Pep and Jose are likely to improve their respective clubs, and that is going to pose a challenge for all of us. For a club like Spurs, a top 4 finish is always going to be a bonus, and I would like to think that most Spurs fans treat it that way, and with all due humility. Only recently, I had cause to chastise some of my fellows, over on the Spurs board, for exhibiting the same kind of delusional behaviour that I have previous criticised in the fans of other clubs. I don't like to see that kind of arrogance, CFC.
Perhaps that might have been the case with the old HIAG, but not so with the new HIAG. Let us choose to agree respectfully to disagree, and to leave it at that.
I think MoPo has to Go, at least until you return to the Lane. Or can MoPo fix your psychological block at the National Stadium?
No lets not! theres no new gimp there could never be you're too twisted and bitter to have the stones to apologise.
Good man HAIG I can you you have risen above the arguments of old, keep it up fella and your stalkers will have to accept that you are posting reasonable comments that do not deserve to be picked at constantly. It's going to be frustrating for them not having the "old" HAIG to battle with but in time I'm sure they'll accept you for what you now are.
It's a shame that you believe that. I hope that, in time, you come to change your mind, Ginger. For now, I think it is best that we leave it there, as I cannot see that there is any benefit in raking over the same old ground.
I think Poch is at a turning point, the right signings and strengthening this Summer and Spurs could kick on. His system and philosophy are sound he needs cover in the right areas along with some genuine improvments to the squad. It's no small step from this point to the next as those around Spurs will also be looking to improve.
