Well as it says, a definite banana skin I wouldn't mind losing to be honest, just want to concentrate on the league. http://www.swanseacity.net/page/Latest/0,,10354~2417587,00.html
Might be better to win it, especially if we lose against Man City. Wouldn't do much for team confidence to lose against Man City and then against Shrewsbury. Also, the League Cup is probably the best chance we have of qualifying for one of the Euro competitions next season.
I think we should be going out with the attitude of going out to try and win every game. BR will pick a team that he thinks will do the job without perhaps risking key players. I think a win is crucial and I think the Swans feel the same ;o)
This gives me a bit of a nostalgia trip to be honest. I remember Darren Currie tearing us to pieces when he played for the Shrews, and it shows how far we've come. I'd imagine there'll be fringe first team players involved, but we'll be out to win as many games as possible this year, in all competitions.
I think we should go all out to win the game because we might draw a Premier League team in the next round. Wait, hang on a minute, I've just remembered....we're IN the Premier League.
i suspect town will not be 3 up at half time probably 2-0. i am glad swansea want to concentrate on the league, this game will certainly help in that direction. we all need to buy swan vestas matches and collect the little red swans. collect 50 and you get a free trip. attendance 9800?
We should put our strongest team out for definate, wins will be at a premium early in the season and we should try to get every one we can. If Brendan wants to rotate late on then fine. Also I'm banking on a home draw in round 3 as being my next game to attend, can't see me getting there sooner
dont mind losing says jager now that is what i call a proper fan......Iv heard it all now. i want us to win every competitive game we play....i dont mind losing in friendlies as sometimes this can be good from a managers point of view......
I recommend caution before posting Dai! I seem to remember a debate ages ago about you being quoted as 'hoping the swans lose' to enable all to see the true problems at the club. If I am wrong , and this was not you , I humbly apologise.
that was when we were dire and nothing was happening in the club, no new players nothing, alas it all changed and any competitive games i always want us to win. friendlies then sometimes it does the team good to lose to send a message that we need players.....it worked....
Losing can become a habit - just like winning can. It's not the end of the world if we lose but I'd be disappointed if Brendan doesn't put out a team that he feels can win, and comfortably. I know he will, even though it won't be our first 11.
Dai forgets what he posts, and thinks that nobody pays attention! and this is just my opinion obviously Brendan will have others, it won't be a disaster to go out
sorry chris-gashead far too busy with premiership matters. and hacker jack i should not bank on any 3rd round tie, i suggest you try avoiding a drubbing by man city etc.
jager that the point i never forget what i post ever.......i wouldn't mind losing indeed says it all really, your no fan and probably a armchair fan at best..
I'm confused ... is atcham jack a Shrewsbury fan or a Swans fan ...(or both)....(or neither). [He lives in Devon, Atcham is near Shrewsbury and is a Jack]
