Those odds were from 365. Let's see what the betfred in Wembley give me on Sunday <ok>

I was just thinking back to 1976 when, of course, we were massive underdogs. However, a lot of that was because of our relative histories. Don't forget that It was a Man Utd side in its first season back in Div One following their relegation. They also had a young side with way less experience than Saints. We also had the type of player and experience who could beat anyone in a one-off game. It's hard to explain but it was a game that everyone involved with Southampton from player to fan just KNEW we would win. It's actually a lot tougher now with such a huge monetary divide but I'm beginning to get similar vibes. Winning is everything in cup finals and Man Utd are well capable of screwing up on the day just as we know that, just like'76, we are capable of beating anyone.

My strongest memory (yes, even including Long's goal v Liverpool) is Hammond sliding on his knees after our first goal v Leeds. I raised my hands to the heavens and shouted, 'I do believe'.

I also remember the 20 odd page 'discussion' with the Leeds not606 fans on our match thread for that game about whose midfield was superior.

My bad. You wouldn't get the 1-0 Saints win and JWP to score first to pay out as a double, as they are related contingencies, ie one outcome has a bearing on the other. So forget the 206/1, they won't give you that.

You've mentioned this before. I think it's pretty much the goal you've most enjoyed, these recent years? Is it fair to say that.? Must admit, I love it too. Deano the captain scored and we were off and running in the Championship. Little did we know just how successfully.

Yeah I just looked at it individually, still higher than expected though. Was thinking around 40-50.

Can't place mine until the day though. My last 2 bets involving Saints were both London games and I placed them in London on the day. Both came in too :)

Thought it seemed a tad high. I assume you were working it out on 2 completely different outcomes?

Anything over 50 will be nice though with 10-15 quid on it <ok>

Anyone know if it's possible to get a recording from a sky box on to dvd?

Might get someone to record it for me.

I was about 16 at the time on holiday in Spain. Myself, brother and father spent an entire day looking for a bar and eventually found one. We couldn't believe what we witnessed! Started to believe promotion was possible after that game, didn't take long!

There's red and white flags on all the street lights down West Quay road. They've been there for a week or so but I haven't been able to take a photo as I'm always driving past them!

Not sure if it was wise, but had a look on the red cafe forum to see what the evil red empire think of the game. As one would expect, all about themselves, and a tiny mention of Gabby and Redmond as a danger. Oh, Romeu versus Herrera was noted.

    They are confident.
