Depends on what you call compelling evidence, if it was based on compelling evidence there are a lot of trials in history that would never have taken place. How about the child's protection, i see nothing from you Dev in that perspective, it's all about the parents and how innocent they are, at the very least they are negligent as i have said many times, but you seem to overlook that perspective a crime of abandoned and placed at risk of danger for which the sentence in the UK carries up to 10 years imprisonment here. Here's the thing. The McCann's are well to do, respectable professionals who had the time and money to take their family away on a holiday with other similar friends. Their apartment wasn't far from the main bar and restaurant area and they along with many other parents in the same resort left their children asleep while they got on with the evening's entertainment. If other kids had been nabbed from that resort I seriously doubt any parent in their right mind would be enjoying dinner and drinks while their kids were at risk of abduction. At the time nothing like this had happened and there was nothing to indicate it ever would or could. The McCann's were happy in their middle-classed bubble of domestic bliss, oblivious to the fact that someone was about to chance their arm or had planned the abduction of their daughter. This was and still is a high profile case so the usual mongs and trolls think it is ok to throw accusations around with impunity. There have been other high profile cases of child cruelty, abuse and death that nobody here on GC seems to give a f*ck about. The fact that Mrs McCann is a Wid, isn't a underclass scumbag, black or East European appears to make her fair game. Instead of accepting the bleeding obvious once again it is easier to point the finger or come up with some sort of top secret conspiracy.
All of this could have been sorted years ago, once and for all. Just make them take a Jeremy Kyle lie detector, sorted. For what it's worth, I already know what happened. Maddie was always whinging and generally being a brat. That night Gerry was in an foul mood and just wanted one night without her playing up and disturbing them. He upped the dose of meds for Maddie and unfortunately he gave her to much and when he checked on her, he realised she had sadly passed away. He put her body in the boot of the car and took her away disposed of it. There were no signs of forced entry to the front door and the only way the phantom could access the apartment was to open the window sliding it leaving finger or glove marks on the frame . Gather the child up step onto the bed steadying themselves before climbing back out leaving more prints. The bed would have been stepped on disturbing the covers. The bed was perfectly straight as it had not been slepped in since being made and the only prints on the window frame were the Mccanns. Heres the thing you think that because they are middle class, and you have hinted that you yourself have attended one of these hellish Butlins for the sophisticated holiday villages so align yourself with this different breed of human being. There are many many anomalies in this case and every time the Mccanns spend money censoring critics and sceptics of their "conspiracy " questions get asked. If you think it's OK to leave 3 very small children alone at night unsupervised then you are not fit to be a parent, and that's not including your taste for your daughters 12 year old friends which is clearly not a joke . Neglect has nothing to do with class or social standing these frauds ****ed up and deserve no sympathy whatsoever. In the UK a Man was arrested and charged for leaving his toddler in a parked car locked into its seat while he popped into the chemist to buy calpol. The car was locked and he parked outside , these are the standards we have to live by here so just because the Mccanns have money , lots lots more since the "abduction" they are still culpable of being utter ****s and many believe they killed her accidently or on purpose. Problem is now the parents can only ever remain fast with their version of events. Because one slip up means we can happily beat the **** out of them and have no need for a jury So as dev has said, no compelling evidence, which may be true, but they will need to ensure that remains the case until their dying day.
I was on a cheapo scumbag holiday and knew someone who worked at the Mark Warner resort nearby. For 50 Euros (at the time around £35) me and the other half got to stay the night in a lovely air conditioned room with crisp sheets on the bed and enjoyed a well stocked buffet at dinner and breakfast. For the most part the kids and their parents stayed apart during the day happy in the knowledge that Ma & Pa could lounge by the pool or in the bar while the nippers were entertained by resort staff and who were free to indulge themselves and their mates in drinks and ice creams which were run up against the family's room tab. What do you know about Mark Warner resorts other than what you may have read? What do you know about what constitutes custom and practice at these resorts? At least I can comment from first hand experience. Last year we went as a family to an all inclusive sunny holiday and for 5 out of the 7 days the kids opted to leave us wrinklies behind and join in with the kids club activities. If either of the Juniors got injured or worse would you blame me for not watching over them 24/7? "We left them in the care of the resort staff!" may be my plea but you and other judgmental twats would still be curling your noses up thinking it somehow served me right. I've never left my kids alone while I go out for the night so by your standards that makes me a wonderful parent. You not having any sympathy for a family who have lost their daughter speaks volumes about you. The fact that "many" believe the McCann's killed the kid and would then have had to get rid of the body, involve all their friends in the cover up etc etc just reinforces my point about scumbags and trolls.
I think it's very telling that the other two kids are very quiet on the matter. What have they got to hide?
