Ibrah is the Chuck Norris of football. Wants to make everything look like a piece of art. The only problem is, he often ****s up the simple while being distracted by the fancifull. Personally, my opinion is that despite his workrate and despite him being a prolific goalscorer, when he's not scoring he's not doing much else. I actually think we'd score more with a more all round number 9.
According to Bobby Charlton it was Duncan Edwards but he never got the chance to prove it. He said that some time ago so could have changed his mind by now.
Think I've mentioned before that, as a child, Best was the best (!) player I ever saw in the flesh playing. I was in the old Paddock (unusual as we used to go in the Anny Rd early doors and get behind the goal, but I'm sure even then - 1971/2, I think - it was seggregated for United visits). He wasn't even arsed, and I remember Charlton moaning at him all game long, but he went on one run and... wow. I tried to demonstrate it in the playground at Colwell Rd and just tripped over my feet several times. The definition of poetry in motion. Even in this generation, Rooney isn't in the same class as Scholes (the closest this country has come to producing a Platini, imo) and Giggs in his pomp. Then again, even back in the 70's, united fans saw no irony in singing anti-Scouse songs whilst revering Steve Coppell. And long may that continue.
yeah but that goes on the potential rather than reality since no one can ever know due to his and the other 22 untimely deaths. Might as well say Collymore was the best striker of his generation since he probably had the greatest innate talent but as it turned out he was a knob who just wasted it whilst Shearer extracted everything possible from his
yeah but in fairness to charlton he had very personal and emotive reasons for saying it. He played with law and best after it but no man could change his mind after what happened could they really? For the rest of us it could only be viewed as looking to who we might think ourselves... and of course charlton himself would never say he was the best... only modern day egos like ronaldo would deign to say such rubbish.
seemingly according to pj... Or we could just say nah we've more than enough heros and legends of our own not to worry about that shrek headed granny basher. but in fairness to rooney he was always the very best player in warm up i ever saw... in games he was always **** though.
Gordon Cassidy, a kid I grew up with in Dovecot, was potentially the greatest player ever until he discovered ciggies at 14, beer at 16 and scrubbers at 17. Last I heard he had diabetes and emphysema and was on disability at 35, 20 years ago. Potential, eh?
You were all wrong.....he is a scouser. Try to bend all you want, but it's a fact. It's not about fancy passes or tackles.....it's goals. And who is the record goal scorer?
So, by your definition, Rush is a greater player than Dalglish? I think not, though the Bluenose **** was a fantastic player for us.
so that Bobby Moore feller was **** since he hardly ever scored i can't work out if you are stupid enough to really think that the record goal scorer for a team automatically makes them the clubs best player or somehow you are convinced for some reason this winds us up. If it is the latter it might work if he was a red but since he is blue till he dies ( or signs for ManU) we aint bothered
Anyway what was the original point again? That Everton's best ever local talent went on to play for Manchester's second best team?
That is really poor, even for you. You do realise that by playing for Manchester's "second best" club he has won more major honours in that time than any other club in the PL
