I wouldn't personally want us to spend much more than £3 million on a single player in the championship. Fair play to Leicester if they want to sign players for £5 million but I think we're best off out of that game.

"I feel Leicester are more of an attractive club with the ambition, manager, training facilities and players.".We've got all this and more, our ambition is a very big one set out by our chairman.

Hmm, which club would I choose if I was Maynard..? As far as riches, ambition and momentum, both clubs are similar. Whereas Leicester City might have the edge on applied riches [although don't be confident on that score], both clubs have similar ambitions, with perhaps the momentum being with Saints. Leicester are undoubtedly closer to a heartland of football. On the south coast we're all spread out, and we're right on the fringe of football, no matter what supporters will say. This isn't London, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Liverpool or Newcastle. But I think footballers want more than that nowadays. As far as their earnings are concerned, they are thoroughly into the quality of life bracket, rather than the struggling, and it doesn't come much better than Leafy-Hampshire-By-the-Sea, and be in and around a football club that's going places, in it's own way.

In the end, tt depends what kind of a challenge Maynard wants.

EDIT: The question of superior facilities wouldn't even arise after one look at what Saints have to offer.

We've got ambitions of regular European football within the fairly short term future.

Plus we have already shown our intent with the signings we have made whereas you don't seem to have done so.

    1) We're doing things sustainably and sensibly, you are clearly aren't. 35k a week is just pathetic.
    2) Debatable. We have just as much, if not more ambition than you do. Our chairman wants us to be in the top 5 of the Premier League within 10 years or less. Our manager is young and highly rated. Our training facilities are being made into some of the best in the business. Players maybe but I'd say he'd walk into our first team when he's got way more competition at yours.

We didn't need a whole new team like your lot seemed to have done.We have signed 3 players so far,all seem to be quality,we are also being tipped to get a couple more players in.Don't just think because you have signed alot of players that it's a cert that you're gonna go up,sometimes it don't work like that, often teams that do well are the teams that are a close knit group with great team spirit, saints have that in abundance but can you say the same for leicester? maybe you can,i dunno.

Clearly you haven't been paying close attention to Saints' progress and plans. I may be as guilty towards Leicester City, but I'll take your regular European football ambitions as read.

Two years ago, when Saints were bought by 5-times-a-billionaire Markus Liebherr, there was a 5 year plan mapped out by him and his trusty pal, and our chairman, Nicola Cortese. At the end of the 5 years, the club were to be promoted to the Premiership. We nearly managed to be in the Championship at the first go, but we did it at the second attempt. So this is the beginning of year 3, and so we have 3 years to obtain that goal of Premiership football. But Nicola has already recently started a new plan, which is to be playing regular European football [I can't remember exactly whether he meant Champions League or not] within 5 years. That's some ambition and some motivation.

You keep buying the league and we'll keep winning. And by all means remind me of this post at the end of this season. ;)

    PS. Where's Matt Oakley..?

More concerned about what we achieve than what our relative ambitions are. Aiming high is fine if you get there. Things are progressing well at Saints and the fans have never been happier. Leicester can only occupy one spot in the League, so we should concentrate on winning as many games as we can.

Man City have shown you can drive a coach and horses through fair play rules by excessive money for stadium naming rights.

    1. Take him if you can offer that, we'll find someone else.
    2. I'd rather have Adkins tbh and our facilities are pretty good too.
    3. Yes, the South is nice.
