If LJ is sacked after the Fulham game and JP is named as caretaker and we are still get relegated, would you still blame LJ for the drop?

Yes because he has had the majority of the season, with the most expensive squad in BCFC history.

Think the only way LJ might be sacked after the Fulham game is if we get an absolute and embarrassing pasting. The fact that we often lose by the odd goal possibly helps him.

Thread is about LJ, what's your point?

In fact I looked up the stats, and here they are:
SoD sacked, Pembo in charge for 1 game: Played 1, Lost 1
Cotts sacked, Pembo in charge for 4 games, Played 4, Won 1, Drawn 1, Lost 2
    Overall: P5, W1, D1, L3

Lee Johnson's first 5 games in charge: Played 5, Won 4, Lost 1

'Pemberton did improve City before 100% nailed on all day long fact in results' - Apparently not mate. Results suggest he'd do even worse than LJ if we're going that simplistically.

lost two out of first three??, improved and were not in a relegation spot when Lee Johnson took over a steadier ship????? something stronger??? did Pemberton change the team shape from 3-5-2 to 4-4-2 and concentrate on defence big time? big ticks and yesses there. tightened it up defensively for a team going south simplistically that is that he did and that is what City need from another other than Lee Johnson.

But going by the facts then your suggestion JP isn't the answer... And 'lost two out of first three', so you're focusing on his fourth game only? Is that the required amount of games for good form for you now? One? :azn:<laugh>

City got getter. a lot better defensively. focusing on all of it. it was better organised team. Lee Johnson benefitted from it and has signings that Cotterill and Pemberton didn't have. now people 12 months later are thinking city could go down. organised and City???? that is a joke. they are piss poor. nothing to not sack.

sorry Lee Johnson not good enough time to go. Pemberton as caretaker. Mark Ashton get on the phone and look for somebody better at home or abroad and advertise the job. WANTED A MANAGER. Good team here waiting to happen. big squad with lots of talent. three up at Derby. Cant defend any week. Doubt if Mark Ashton would head hunt a LJ type.

J Pemberton Midds won ( immediate change to 4-4-2 Leeds lost 1-0 Birmingham drew Charlton won ( lee Johnson appointed but was not in dugout in directors box ) game v Ipswich was likely the change over game and being the same team as before same formation as before credit should be split, although in my mind it was still JP'S TEAM!

when you are born you are intelligent ... then education ruins it ......
but then again if it didn't we would not have politicians ...
a smokescreen = Guy is in temporary charge for 5 games and suddenly it's JP's team? ****ing hell mate give me a break
Instead of saying ooops I screwed up there, thanks for pointing it out you try to cover your blush's by doing what an awfull lot of posts do on here and try to divert / avoid the answer indeed FAIL to answer the question .....
Also give me a good reason why it should not be JP's team, he, JP changed SC's so was it that Lee inherited SC's 3-5-2 team, JP never existed, and it was SC'S TEAM THAT INALLY CAME GOOD !
    impetuosity IS often dangerous............

SO who was JP's second loss to ???

Pembo was in charge for the West Brom replay. We only scored 2 goals in his 4 games in charge, one in the last minute against Middlesbro and the other was from the penalty spot against a very poor Charlton side. Not sure he really set the world alight and nothing there that says to me he would be our saviour. Also find it funny that LJ is being criticised for trying different things in games. Wasn't one of the major criticisms of Cotterell was that he wouldn't alter his 3-5-2 formation at all?

It would be fair to think that Mr Pemberton did influence the result v Ipswich. Anybody want to do the maths over 46 matches?

It was, and it doesn't matter how the goals are scored most on here say or how the points come...

SC just to reiterate the "level playing field syndrome" ..
    2015 / 2016 2016/01/12 Bristol City 1 Preston 2 .....L
    2015 / 2016 2016/01/02 Reading 1 Bristol City 0 ...L
    2015 / 2016 2015/12/28 Burnley 4 Bristol City 0 ....L
    2015 / 2016 2015/12/26 Bristol City 1 Charlton 1 ...D
    2015 / 2016 2015/12/19 Bristol City 1 QPR 1 ...........D conceded 8 goals scored 3

JP scored 2 or 4 conceded 1 or 2 depending on IPSWICH game
LJ scored 4 or 6 conceded 7 or 8 depending on IPSWICH game

I wasn't there but heard that our first half against Derby was the best football we've played for years..
Why would the players be playing for the manager in the first half but not the second? Doesn't make sense saying the players doesn't play for the manager?
I agree with Loathsnyd if he didn't change things to try and improve things he would still be criticised.

I wasn't there but heard that our first half against Derby was the best football we've played for years ... Maybe not years, but for months. In the second half as City's players tired Mr Johnson changed the shape (high lines) inviting (deep lines) Derby onto City's defence. Positive to negative.

Versus Leeds Mr Johnson abandoned totally the set up that was working well v Derby for forty five minutes for something entirely different, which he abandoned and changed again, and again. He played at least four formations including Tomlin and Taylor playing in the same spaces = No player up front to play off till Djuric went into a sort of 4-3-2-1.

It is needless change and has been going on for months as Mr Johnson out thinks himself and his team.

I think you'll find he lost to Leeds and West Brom. I will concede that the West Brom defeat is understandable. Doesn't make him a suitable manager though, you've presented zero evidence to support that fact apart from the fact that he changed formation a bit.

Had he not changed it and we still conceded those goals you would have criticised, not having a clue defending the lead..Easy to say afterwards!

Why would City have conceded those goals? If the shape had not altered they could not have conceded those goals. The space would not have been available.

It is easy to criticise when Mr Johnson repeats the same tactical errors week after month. The first half v Derby witnessed the very things I have posted about should be done higher lines, pressing, overloads and tempo.

The squad is set up for the above. There is a good team waiting to reveal itself except for the very person who pics the XI and its tactics.I criticise Mr Johnsons waste of that future for ? Nothing superior.
