I'm not sure JP would be my choice if i'm honest as I can't believe he's had no input in what LJ's doing..If I were SL, I think I would lick my wounds and clear the whole management out. Appleton's never done it for me and I'm not sure Rowett's done enough, those two we would be looking at long term I imagine. Short term (till end of season) is where I have the problem, that's why I suggested help for LJ. Long term, Think I would look abroad (defo not Scotland)!
I seriously doubt John Pemberton would play 3/4/5 formations in a game!!! I doubt most ever do that. I think he would keep it simple. I think he would be more certain in his ideas and I think the team would benefit.
JP would be an obvious choice as caretaker at least, but I do see that he is surely part of the Management problem and as least some way responsible?
I really don't see Appleton as the solution. Ok he probably had a raw deal at Blackburn, Portsmouth and Blackpool, but he's no better than what we have now imo. If we're going to go for yet another lower league manager then let's go for Danny Cowley who's done such a great job at Lincoln ?
Are you telling me he has no influence with our formations or tactics? Do you think this is not discussed within training sessions? The only thing he might do short term is go back to basics and hope for the best!! It's what most caretaker managers do......trial and error.....sometimes it works sometimes it don't.
John Pemberton ffs. And we moaned at LJ's perceived lack of managerial experience. Sacking LJ is ONLY worth it if there's a viable upgrade. JP is not proven enough whatsoever to take that gamble.
back to basics would be good. don't think John Pemberton is in the back ground going lets try 4-4-2-0 now lets try 4-3-2-1 now 4-3-3. when he took over he was steady City are not steady under Lee Johnson he is not steady at all or uncomplicated.
Johnson was the gamble. sack Johnson. put steady Pemberton in charge as caretaker again ( he has done it x2 now) get back to basics (Pemberton did that before) and bring a new man in from those who will apply.
Mate that makes absolutely zero sense. I completely agree Johnson was a gamble, but you then say 'steady Pemberton'. Double standards or what! In what world is Pembo not a gamble? He could well turn out to be even ****ter than LJ. You say get back to basics but Millen did the exact same thing, decent spell when caretaker, and look how that ended.
2016. what did Pemberton do???? I will answer. went back to basics and looked at the defending got a major result at Boro as caretaker till the next man came in. John the steadier Pemberton doesnt play 3/4/5 formations in one game.
posting about a Caretaker till somebody else is appointed. Pemberton is steady and wont be tinkering like Johnson that's the blokes history. You thinking Lee Johnson is the leader to take City forward??? is he even average??? whats he done at City? no room for a gamble and experiment here nice bloke but get rid.
The are lots of people like Millen, JP and there was Colin Harvey at Everton, Gorman as Hoddles No 2 and a guy at Sunderland who's name escapes me. Brilliant No2s but way out of their depth when given the full time role. Nice guy Millen. Was in Torquay and by co-incidence saw we were playing a friendly just as we had signed David James. Millen got off coach and had time to talk to me and the wife before going into ground.- We were rubbish that day. Put out a decent team and lost 2-0. Went on to Palace and did a great job but as assistant.
You're going on about two separate points mate. Do I think LJ is the leader to take us forward? Probably not. Do I think there's any evidence that Pembo will improve us? No. What happens if/when we sack LJ, take on Pembo and lose even more games? 'No room for a gamble and experiment', yet you want Pembo in charge. I need a lie down.
Thread is about LJ. Sack 100% not up tom it I am in no probably fence sitting camp. what to do next put Pemberton in as caretaker. No problem with that as Pemberton did improve City before 100% nailed on all day long fact in results. No messiah but he will almost certainly stop all this 3/4/5 formations in one game Lee Johnson nonsense seen at Leeds. He as a caretaker is no gamble or big risk due to his organisation. Done it before, big tick. it worked well, big tick. you know what you are getting, big tick. unlike Lee Johnsons next team selection or tactics. Should John Pemberton be the next coach manager no.
City went up the table to two above the drop with John Pemberton as caretaker including a battling rear guard action win at Boro defending a one nil lead. that's right City defending a lead!!!!
