BATES IS THE PROBLEM END OF .AS for SG signings a profit of £1,m+ on SCmichel at least £2m on Gradel when he goes shortly.Gradel was not enen considered by a so called good manager in Nigel Pearson so how come he his worth at least 10x the amount we bought him for if Simon is that bad OK so he has made a few mistakles but so as every manager including Fergie Veron for oneI wouldn,t like to think I had spent 320m on balotelliyet no ones calling for the managers head His pluses 1 gradel 2 nunez could be sold for £500k 3kisnorbo 4 Schmichel 5 Connelly 6Somma worth at least £2m Minuses 1 Bessone cost zero 2 obrien cost £200k 3Bruce cost £200k 4 Paynter cost zero 5Collins sold for what we paid for him So from his transfer dealings he has shown a profit or will do of at least £5m + so whats the problem. The problem is BATES END OF STORY
it does not matter if grayson goes--choose who-ever rakes over he will still av the same probs---FOOKING BATES most of u lads are correct
Clivetime never answers my question of who he would realistically like to see in charge I have to agree with a previous comment, he just loves the attention and winding people up. From today I will avoid and not even read any thread started by this fool. If he replies in a thread skip over it, I suggest we all do the same and allow him to get his attention he craves for elsewhere.
Ambition doesn't always have to come in the form of finance from the board. It's a mental thing too, you can still be ambitious with a small budget, it's just harder. Everything Grayson says and does suggests he's happy just to tread water in the Championship, something he was also happy to do at Blackpool. Ian Holloway didn't suddenly get millions to spend, but was positive and ambitious and took Blackpool up. It's also up to the fans to show ambition. To say that Grayson has to stay because we couldn't possibly get anyone better and no decent manager would want to come, is showing a total lack of ambition on the fans part. Why should Ken Bates show any ambition when the fans won't even entertain the idea of us getting a better manager?
Well I'm sorry if this upsets a few of you guys, but Clivetime actually makes a very valid point here.
If SG or any future manager under the chairmanship of Bates stated they are been given no funds and undermined by the Chairman they will find themselves out of a job. Bates isn't going to change his methods and until a rich buyer comes along whoever manages the club will have to work with their hands tied. Do you really think SG is happy for his beloved Leeds United to settle into mid-table mediocrity, absolute bull. You can see the passion Grayson has every time we score a goal and every time we concede. He's not the type of man who can hide is feelings, watch him when he's interviewed his passion and emotions are plain to see. He wants to win but he can only work with the players that are available to him and purchase / loan the players he is allowed to afford. It's so easy to blame Grayson for the current poor run but the players need to stand up and be counted too. Clive, once again who do you suggest should be manager, lets here your ambitious ideas, Mourinho maybe, Hiddink?
How much did McSheffery, McCartney Livermore Brannan in addition to all the above cost in wages. Of your successes one has only started one game but I agree will be good and even the ultra pro Leeds Eddie Gray is critical of Connelly. As far as I am £4.5 million of your profit relates to players who are still there so and the point I was making is that from Bates point of view he sees everything in financial terms. I am glad you feel Grayson no part to play in our apparent problem despite training the players selecting the team choosing the tactics and motivating the players - how long has our defence all of whom acquired by Grayson (ex Parker) been useless?
As simon said before, can we get an IP check on this guy? And by the way would you say that Connelly is useless? that lichaj is useless? that bromby is useless? that kisnorbo is useless? that lees is useless? all of whom were acquired by simon grayson or in lees case being worked into the team by simon grayson. you do realise that when buying free players, there is always that risk of whether they will be good or not and at the end of the day, they havnt cost you a transfer fee anyway.
What a load of nonsense from the OP. His opnion but completely agaisnt the general feeling of the support. Probably why he posts on this message board as he'd get crucified on our main one. MOT
He made an extremely valid point though in post #25. As much as he can be annoying and always has a anti Grayson agenda, its perfectly valid and I see no-one has come back to that one yet. Generally he does post some crap though.
I agree with much that Clivetime says, I honestly dont rate Larry as a manager, but then I just dont like his tactic's. team selection, or find him at all inspiring. Can't help my opinion. I DO appreciate however that his hands are tied in terms of transfers, however he it 100% responsible for organising and getting the best out of the squad he has, and that includes consistency. If they play well, and they have proved they can and do, you all give him the credit for that... however you also have to hold him accountable for when they play like a set of tools, all over the place and looking like they have never played together before... Before you say it, I dont like Bates (a common reaction to people who question Larry'a ability), although even tho I dont like him, he's knows one thing, how to run a buisness, manage risk and make a profit.... that's how he made us a profit making club again and you should give him credit for that. Now he's done that I wish he would sell up, take his profit, p**s off and let someone invest in the team..... My point ? Those same blinkered people who blame bates for everything, refuse to blame Grayson for anything.... its just ridiculous. Lets have some balanced opinions please that reflect reality
PETER123 Mcsheffrey cost Birmingham £3mso how did we know he wouldn,t fit in at ER I thought he would be sucessful I was wrong .Mccartney was bought by Sunderland for £3.6m and has since been sold to West Ham to a manager who thinks is good enough to manage England so he must see something in him.Livermore and Bannon have Ive been informed great futures in the game so again how can you blame SWG for these failures
