Indeed, its like reading the ****ing comments of the nufcblog.com website. That's the same **** day after day as well, can't even please some of the people today. It's all well and good saying don't read the comments from a select few miserable ****s, but they even infect the threads that are about some decent things happening: Obertan signing, Fiorentina tickets being exchanged for prem. games.

Thing is when we still had Carroll, Nolan, Hughton, Enrique and no 35 million to spend there were still plenty of people moaning, they will always be there so I will always take an optimistic approach.

Well I must admit I thought we still needed to strengthen but I was content, you are right though, people were expecting too much too soon at that stage.

At the end of the day it's a forum, it's for people to have banter / argue / share gossip and share different points of view. If we all had the same opinions then it would be a forum full of non-footy related articles....
Having said that, there are certain people who obviously post stuff in order to get attention and a reaction which is stupid and pointless

Fair lot fewer though. I think of myself as a realist, and I was excited at that point. We had a good mix of teamwork and skill with a very bright future. Now we have a future (for the next 5 years or so) where we will not progress beyond 8th. After that we might, but it'll be hard to influence players

To be honest, if we are to rebuild this club and survive on our own money, then surely we have to pay off the debt first? Then we can go forward.

I was excited as well, but I think one or two more signings and we will have a much stronger side than then, which is why I'm happy now.

For the record I never complain for the sake of complaining. You couldnt stop my optimism before Hughton got sacked. That was the turning point when things have turned to disillusion and horsesh*t. I'll be damned to ignore it for the sake of what? Being optimistic?

Have I made these quotes from Pardew up? And his previous bullsh*t? Its there to see. If Pardew came out and said something with a bit of backbone and some f*cking substance, it would we welcomed.

if you want something positive out of me. i dont think we will go down. We will have some cracking games with the players we have. Some of them will be worth watching on their own. There'll be a fair few 4-3's and 5-4's given the squad we have if you look at it.

    Bring it on. :D

How come 90% of Toon fans complain about lack of communication between the club and fans then 90% complain about Pardew talking too much?

People slag us off for selling players but all of those players took the money at the first opportunity they got.

This exactly, a point i've brought up a couple of times. Responses I usually get are - he just re-hashes the same thing. But if he was to remain silent instead of re-hashing then you would get the first part about lack of communication. Can't win with anything... ever... at all!

Negativity is getting too much around here and yeah I have moaned about pundits saying we are going down but other than that I don't see why the negativity is being caused. Nolan was never going to get in the team, Enrique was a no brainer and we have a lethal midfield. A striker and a LB added will be a good summers business IMO.

I haven't been bothering to post much for the past couple weeks, partly because my dissertation is due in a week, but mostly because I'm tired of the overbearing negativity. It's reassuring to know Smudger and co. are feeling the same way about the dark ****in' cloud hanging over this forum, even though there're a lot of players in black and white worth getting excited about.
There's so much hatred and discontent surrounding the club and its fans right now, and it's exhausting -- the season hasn't even started yet.

Same here. I look in every day see all the negative threads and bugger off and find something else to do. Really can't be bothered with 90% of the them.

Personally I like Pardew's approach with the press, he doesn't shrink from any question and tries to give an answer. I'd also say that judging by alot of the comments on here over the last few weeks there are plenty of fans who did need to hear the message about not being able to compete with the massive spending clubs. The problem is there are some who just don't like hearing it and blame the messenger.
