rangers is a great club, a big club but not as great or as big or have the same history of this club. The manager who gets Leeds promoted will be a hero for the rest of his life and Monk knows that. If Monk was to be tempted away from Leeds I think I can safely say it will be to a forward looking premiership team with a forward thinking board of directors. So factor in Dyche, Monk & Warburton, Rowett, Howe all young up and coming top English managers - Leicester, Arsenal. YES Arsenal could well decide this is the way to go and who would blame them as any of these would have made a better England manager than Southgate. Rangers have no chance as they have even less cash than Leeds and unless they get to play in the Championship in England they will never be big enough.
Who cares if were not ready to go up? Who has ever been 'ready' to go up? Every team in history has got promoted and had to sign plenty of new players....we are as ready as anyone else. In fact i'd say were more equipped than most given the size of the club.
Compared to Leeds and leaving the sectarian ****e to one side (no place for it in football) Rangers just like Celtic are a mid sized club playing in a pub league. Always have been always will be. **** em both. Discuss......
What are the criteria you use to define the clubs compared to us? They have: * Bigger crowds * Bigger UK fanbase * Bigger global fanbase * Superior European pedigree * Greater turnover I'm genuinely puzzled how you've evaluated this & look forward to a good structured answer that I can use. Remember, I'm a Leeds fan too, but many, many of my friends / rellies are old firm, so all help is useful.
Bigger crowds.. Sectarian ****e... And they play in a pub league with only one other rival for glory.. So they win stuff.. Glory hunting scots style. Bigger uk fanbase.. As above Bigger global fanbase... As aboveand you ****ers know how ****e scotland is so have legged it all round the globe Superior european pedigree. How so? Greater turnover. Is that right? But if so see answers one and two.
Lucky for me its you thats arguing then. The top three are unarguable ... Not sure how you are measuring european pedigree. In a two horse race they were bound to qualfy for europe every year, and have won how many trophies in all that time. Turnover no idea the relative amounts but newco are bordering on going bust and sevco went bust so it dont matter. They on a par with millwall where it matters and thats on the pitch. If you are already this confused **** knows how bad you will be with jet lag.
You still haven't given me your criteria! As for my suggestions, & your replies ... * Bigger crowds * Bigger UK fanbase * Bigger global fanbase We're talking about numbers for these 3 criteria, not the reason for the numbers. It's a measurement. 'Sectarian ****e' isn't. * Superior European pedigree When was the last time we played in Europe? Doesn't matter how they got there - they've built their pedigree by being there! * Greater turnover Latest numbers: LUFC - £24m (Feb 2016) Rangers - £22m (Oct 2016 - you can thank the barcodes chairman for that ) Celtic - £61.2m (Feb 2017, interim) So go on then, present a solid argument with specific criteria to prove we are bigger. I look forward to using it. Really, I do, but am not optimistic. The Irish lads will probably be familiar with my quandary.
There you go again acting as judge and jury. Why do you get to set the criteria in response to a point already made. I dont measure a club by the financials but by the quality of the team. But even you seem to accept that Rangers turnover is smaller. Pedigree in europe? Qualify every year but out before christmas. Thats not pedigree is a mongrel. Every premiership and championship club in England is bigger than the old firm. They would be in league one at best and sheffield united are bigger than both in the only measure that matters. I dont want you getting all grumpy bollix again and having another hissy fit before you fly off, just accept that nothing scottish is as big or good as anything english and you are wrong and I promise I wont mention it again.
Probably shouldn't mention Celtic have won the European Cup and Arsenal haven't managed that yet let alone us
The only reason we havent won it in case you dont know is because of a bent ref, but in 1967 the european cup was a pub team competition. Even the scum ****s managed to win it under that waste of space scots twat Busby a year later....
Old Etonians have won the F A CUP twice how big must they be ? like saying some paddy team that gets 10,000 and entry to the European qualifiers is a big team.
