Any chance of getting signed? As I've said before, I was in a punk band back in the day, too crap to make it though.

  3. I had the chance to go the pro/touring route back in the 90s, but turned it down for other things. It was too great a risk for me, at that time. I think I made the right decision - I don't regret it. People have this idea that every band that gets signed goes on to fame and riches, or that the bands/artists who get fame automatically get rich, but more often than not that isn't the case. Very few bands/artists make it big, and even then it's a hell of a lot of hard work. I get knackered playing one gig a week, and couldn't imagine doing that every night of the week, at the end of travelling all over the place. I think my love for rock would diminish quite rapidly.

I did get a mention in Melody Maker, back in the early 90s, and I have played some pretty prestigious venues, particularly in and around London.

  4. Plenty, but I am not going to link to any from this site. I like my anonymity, mate.

Done it, mate, back in the day, It mostly ain't a lot of fun. Traveling hundreds of miles to some remote ****hole that happens to have a college or university. Hull springs to mind!..

Arrive mid afternoon, locate gig, start setting up, sound check ( remembering that what sounds good when the place is empty, doesn't when it's full). Run through the set. Then off to find sustenance, few bevvies before you go on, etc.

Do the gig, and hopefully it goes well. Now, wind down, few more drinks - plus any other 'perks' that happen to be around. If you're lucky you're on the road by 3.00 am. And on to the next one, rinse, repeat....

Nice so your ambition is to become like arsenal. You want the 4th place trophy. I hear wenger might be looking for a new job soon

Think poch disagrees with your ambition though. He pretty much played the first team

I think you should cut this 'Hoddle' lad a bit of slack..

He can sing a song and confident with it. Would any of you lads do a gig in say, Byker, Mosside, Scotswood, Silksworth, Easterhouse's, Govan? Probably never heard of half of them..

But for me a tune is a tune and if someone is good enough and man enough to do it, then cut them some slack and let them sing their song.. ;)

tra, la, la, la.......la and all that ****..<laugh>

I'm a supporter of just having a moment with a fellow poster , me and him not agreeing with something and having a little go at what he sadly said :) , nothing more . Although it was an interesting read on how the peanut gallery reacted frankly . . I don't like how Arsenal got into the The Top Flight ....But I like how they've ran things since in a respectable way ... That's all Folks .

  13. No, I am not like the Gooners.

We haven't had the consistency to be in a position to have squandered the chances that Arsenal have.

Chances are, in any event, that we will thrash Gent at the Lane and progress to the next stage.

Are we going to win the Europa? No, we are not, in my opinion.

Can we finish top 4 in the Prem? Yes, we can, in my opinion.

I am glad that Poch takes the Europa seriously, I'd be very disappointed if he didn't take every game we play seriously. Does that mean that I should change my view and blindly believe that we will win the Europa, and that by trying it will not compromise our chances in the Prem?

    What do you think, BobbyD?

  14. We went a goal behind against the run of play, and we didn't concede any more goals.

Explain to me how that equates to Arsenal's capitulation.

Gent 1 Tottenham Hotspur 0: Spurs' continental nightmare takes another turn for the worse
Somehow, Tottenham Hotspur always find a way to make Arsenal fans feel better. Last year, they allowed their north-London rivals to steal second spot and finish above them, and now they have given them something to smile about following their defeat in Munich.

Yes whereas Arsenal capitulated against bayern who are arguably the best team in the world and you guys lost to the Gent who are 8th in the Belgium Division 1 which is probably the equivalent of Plymouth in the UK. I know which one i would be more ashamed of and it isn't against batman and robin
