My logic can be attempted to be batted away but it will be a swing and a miss . Teams like Real ,Munich and United make it very difficult for teams like Arsenal , Liverpool and others alike to make headway , be it Champions League or domestic . Wenger heads up a very conservative bunch and I respect him and his club .

If you've got the radio on 'Drive' should be a funny show with Arsenal getting spanked.

  3. Roofie, I will respond to this, because it's you; I generally ignore this kind of ignorant thinking when it's put forward by the Seggies.

Firstly, this thread has nothing to do with Spurs, or the price of fish. It is a thread about, not only another failure by Arsenal to get beyond the final 16 in the CL, but yet another stonking humiliation for them. Arsenal got beyond the group stage - a massive round of applause for them, I hope their fans enjoy the DVD when it comes out.

Secondly, this season was only the second season that Spurs have been in the CL, and we clearly have a lot of learning to do in order to progress (as we did in our first every year in the CL, when we got to the Quarter Finals). That will come with time.

How many continuous seasons have Arsenal been getting to the CL?

And, yet, they appear to have learned nothing.

We will never know how many CL finals Spurs would have made it to, had we been given the chances that Arsenal have been given, but I am confident that we would have fared no worse than they have.

Roofie, can you not see that it is no answer to Arsenal's current plight to say "Oh, but Spurs aren't even in the CL!" All you are doing is feeding the HIAG Harpies, and encouraging them to continue to dodge the key questions about Arsenal's continuing failure.

The only team that embarrasses me as an Englishman, is England. Club sides mean **** all to me. They only embarrass themselves imo.

  7. No, Roofie, you are wrong on this. Le Vieux Fou is a fossil who has grown increasingly out of touch with the modern game. He remains at Arsenal, not to win titles or trophies, but to continue to make money for the club's greedy owners so that they can capitalise the club's wealth and use it to secure their non-football ventures. The owners could not give a **** about football or the club, so long as it makes money for them.

That is nothing to be proud of, and from what I heard last night and today, from Gooners calling TalkSport, the fans who live in the real World (ie. not the muppets who live on this site) have finally had enough.

  9. Possibly. I don't have enough vested in my own argument to get into a heated debate with you on this topic.

We can certainly agree that Arsenal embarrassed themselves and their fans, last night.

Ignorance a lack of knowledge , I'm rude , your ignorant on this one . At least Arsenal got to the final 16 and got shown the door by a great club . For a Tottenham fan to make fun of Arsenal's ACHIEVMENTS in Champions League is a bit of a laugh but hey ... at least were talking football . Pot out of a glass pipe thread for me , but I'll give you credit for having the balls to slag off a team that outshone you in Champions League by eons .. well done .

I felt no embarrassment at all. As I said, it was funny and I watched it all.

  14. Roofie? Are you writing this of your own free will? Or has one of the Seggies got a gun to your head, mate?

So, to follow your logic to its conclusion, it is okay for Arsenal to continue failing in the CL - and those tens of thousands of Gooners are wrong to get on Wenger's back about it - so long as Spurs keeping failing in the CL!

Can you not see how pathetic your argument is? It is exactly the same kind of ****e that Flanders and Pixie spout, as well as dead-heads like Skiddy, Tobes and Raoul Moat wannabe, Little Urn. Please stop with this crap, as you are more intelligent than this.

Agreed Roofie, HIAG can say it's all about Arsenal and how pitiful they have been (which they have) but just as you would never see Vorm call out Lloris for his goalkeeping mistakes (being the inferior keeper), i find it hilarious that HIAG is laughing at a club when his own spurs side who have far less trophies and don't ever finish above arsenal.

Pathetic is watching a Spurs fan slagging off Gunners efforts in Champions League . Bit of a laugh from your first response of deflection that this isn't about Spurs till you upped your gumption . I actually laughed out loud when I seen the thread . At least Arsenal got to face one of the biggest clubs on earth , they will always be a step behind other while clubs are several

  19. Not quite sure what you mean, here, Roofie.

I am not slagging-off Arsenal's efforts in the CL, but tens of thousands of Gooners are, including former club legends. Have you not heard any of the vitriol that is being spouted?

I don't need to slag them off. And whether I do or don't is completely irrelevant to any of the arguments that are put forward on this thread, whether by me or by the many others who have commented.

Again, someone is attempting to shoot the messenger for delivering a message? What is it with you people?

Last time I checked, this was a board for general comment on Prem League clubs. My bad that, in fact, I appear to have walked into The Blue Oyster Bar.

Arsenal got trounced by Bayern last night. This thread is about Arsenal getting trounced by Bayern last night.

Stop me if I am missing something, here, Roofie.

That's part of the fun when reading my threads, instead of some of the other dull **** on this board, Roofie. I am a funny guy.

    Thanks.
    <ok>

    ...and got completely ripped apart.

Yes, I know. That is what this thread is about, Roofie.

Believe it or not, we are still both singing from the same page of the hymn-book, my friend.

Huh? Not sure what you mean by that.

But I agree that Bayern are one of the giants of Europe, and that they have been for a quite a while.

I am in absolutely no doubts - none whatsoever - that Spurs would have done no better against them, last night. Perhaps we might have done worse. Who knows?

That isn't the point of this thread, though, Roofie.

Again, I implore you not to fall into the same trap as the Seggies, and act like an imbecile. I know you better than this.

Rufus ... you will have gleaned a valuable lesson from this ... you now know why the majority of posters see Quentin as a tedious pudenda <rofl>

"How many continuous seasons have Arsenal been getting to the CL?" ...disaster by definition eh? <rofl>

"We will never know how many CL finals Spurs would have made" ... but we do ... as many as the number of EPL titles they have won since its' inception ...none..<rofl>

Quentin spouts 'arse logic' ... his argument is as valid as me saying "we'll never know how many Champions League finals Leicester City would have won if we'd got to them" <doh>

"Secondly, this season was only the second season that Spurs have been in the CL" ... translation ... Spurs have therefore been ****e for years whilst Arsenal have been winning trophies <rofl>

"...a massive round of applause for them, I hope their fans enjoy the DVD when it comes out." ... certainly a feature film in comparison to "Spurs - Top Of The League For 12 Minutes In The Last 50 Years" <rofl>

You'll never be able to have a sensible debate about footie with Quentin, Rufus .. his Goons bitterness defines his existence and continually makes him look like a complete botty burp <laugh>
